PSM: PS3, 360 are even

PlayStation-centric US magazine PSM has put PS3 and Xbox 360 through a series of rigorous tests in a "definitive head-to-head comparison," and has come out with what must be a surprising result for subscribers: the next-gen console war is a dead heat.

has just passed because someone at PSM is sooo fired. Wow.lol

Joe7067d ago (Edited 7067d ago )

Can someone scan the PSM article and post it? I would like to read the article from beginning to end before I comment.

Thanks.

CyberSentinel7067d ago

...ask anyone who has BOTH systems, and see which one MOST of them choose .

Blind Lemmings, Sony Loves You.

mananimal7067d ago

I would like 2read the entire article also, but the "MEDIA" controls public opinion/public perception, so in light of the current "Facts" in regards to PS3's(Sony) woes as of late, and the XBOX 360's success's, a usually partisan/pro-Playstation magazine like PSM has no other choice currently but to give 360 its "props" sort of, it can't say PS3's winning the next-gen war cause that would be ridiculous, but for the sake of swaying public opinion, maintaining a positive outlook on things for PS3, it cant say Sony's losing either,(even though this would be more accurate at the present time), So what does a partisan Magazine like PSM do? ..they say its "even"(even though this isnt true currently) ..REMEMBER this is about "PR"(public relations boys & girls), PSM is attemping sway public opinion to keep the fan boys & potential fence sitters from giving up on PS3.

Anyways, I believe you should choose whatever console fits your style - of course.

DJ7068d ago

And based on everything that happened in 06, it basically is a draw...for now. This is an independent magazine, so it's not like Sony's going to drop down on them. They were brave enough to bring in Fran from their sister magazine (Xbox side), which is pretty admirable. A second or even third comparison is inevitable considering the kind of changes Sony's system is gonna go through in the near future.

FeralPhoenix7068d ago

lol -Wow, no joke I was in the store today and I actually read this exact same article from PSM....now I see it posted on N4G, damm thats cool!....DJ, either you are trying to "spin" this or you haven't read the entire article because in their conclusion(opinion) they specifically said that neither system would ever dominate the other this gen -(in so many words). It was wierd to see them say so many good things about the 360, they like 360's exclusives and this was not specifically directed at 2006...in fact the reason they said it was a draw was because it really comes down to the games you prefer....saying the 360 would have better games from western dev's and online content and of course PS3 will have more of the Japanese style dev games , sure both will have a mix but this will be their strength....whats really interesting is more and more "sources" are saying that Blu-ray isn't going to be a "significant" difference for GAMES -NO I'm not implying that they said it was bad for them....actually I've always said more space is always good, but like I've been telling you it's not something in this gen that will be "neccessary" for games, thats all....now for those who want Blu-ray HD movies and don't want to buy a expensive player...the PS3 is without a doubt a good value -AGREED. At any rate I will say that: This one article from PSM actually gave me alot of respect for the MAG as a whole....it does take alot of guts to go against the grain and "try" to be un-biased in what is essentially suppose to be a "bias magazine."

Look I know VIII has its issues and all that but how on earth can the do big anniversary events with new artwork and merchandise for VII, IX and X yet VIII got sweet f*** all.

They could have given it something during its 25th anniversary yet all it got was a single Happy Anniversary post on their social media.

solideagle40d ago

they should know that we are OG fans of VIII as it sold truckload as well. not as much as VII or X. I personally didn't like IX but X and VI are my personal fav.

Shadow Hearts 2 covenant is another game I love. I hope one day someone can make remake, I would be delighted

Final Fantasy VIII is great and you are always the first to defend it in the comments

Underrated comment. I used to hate that game so much that any time my siblings asked me to play it, I just picked Hom and shut myself down mid-match.

And then MK1 killed it again.

15 years went by so fast. I remember playing through the story mode at launch.

PlayStation legend Shuhei Yoshida says Jim Ryan fired him because he didn't listen to him

Why did Sony push Shuhei Yoshida out of his role leading PlayStation's first-party games? He'd overseen some huge successes. Well, apparently, he didn't listen.

Yeah I can see that for sure. Shuhei Yoshida should have been in charge not Jim Ryan.

Cacabunga49d ago

It should be free highway for him now.. but Sony are too stupid to see this, especially that moron Hulst

S2Killinit48d ago (Edited 48d ago )

Wtf why all that anger. PlayStation is dominating on every level. Besides I think there is a little more to hiring a CEO than just who is available. Its not like its a athlete your team wants to buy.

neutralgamer199248d ago

S2Killinit

live service failures, chasing trends, closing studios. yes dominating

Cacabunga48d ago

Sony is Dominating because competition is not existing. Compared to previous gens this is the poorest in terms of software offerings.

Last gen we got Uncharted 4 Lost Legacy and TLOU2 from ND alone.

This is so far a remasters gen, with no competition to lift up the quality

1nsomniac48d ago (Edited 48d ago )

..."PlayStation is dominating on every level"....

...Really???

PlayStation are soon heading into a new generation in the not to distant future. They currently have the worst customer satisfaction they've ever sustained as a company. The company is heading for a huge crash while at the same time they'll need to be planning how they are going to try and win back that favour and the build up to their new releases.

Yes financially they're winning but they're going to have to ride out this complete public corporate disaster. No one has faith in the company or the product anymore. They've damaged their public image so much this generation. Greed can kill anyone.

medman48d ago

Hulst is a disaster......

He would've done the same thing and fire Jim Ryan and Shuhei would be the villain. Why?
Because Elite creates the narrative and distraction for gamers, users and citizens.

Outside_ofthe_Box49d ago

More confirmation that Jim Ryan is the culprit for what has happened to Sony. Hulst needs to go too. What sucks is that a lot of the good top heads at Sony are no longer there. I wish that guys that were forced out prematurely by Dumbo Jimbo like Shuhei and Layden came back.

robtion48d ago

Yep. Yoshida was responsible for bringing one of the best games of this generation to playstation (Stellar Blade). He is an actual gamer and is in touch with what gamers want (creative, fun games, not GaaS and agenda pushing). He also seems like a genuinely nice guy if you watch some interviews. Of course they got rid of him.

darthv7249d ago

Makes you wonder if MS even thought about hiring him after Phil and Sarah were leaving. He certainly couldn't make their situation any worse.

Agent7548d ago

Microflop. After Windows XP and Xbox 360, it all went floppy.

S2Killinit48d ago

Floppy 😆
No pun intended

badz14949d ago

Yoshida for President! Jim Ryan was and always be a hack! Sony should get Shu back

Lightning7749d ago

All the gamer/consumer lead heads are gone across PS and Xbox. shuhei gone phil's gone (questionable) but gone. The future of gaming is somewhat uncertain across the board.
