Except when UE4 won't load in assets

Tekken666342219d ago (Edited 2219d ago )

still scratching my head on that. all of the cut scenes in this are very high quality. (if not some of their best work)
only in the gameplay moments where developers spent less time with do you notice this.
suffice it to say they spent a higher amount of time making all of the cut scenes with high attention to detail.

I'm honestly surprised they haven't addressed it at all. There are textures that are worse than PS2 quality in some places (the door to the apt in the slums for example) and a few other places... these NEVER load. I mean, it's got to he a simple coding error they should be able to fix via a patch. Right?

Segata2218d ago

Doubt they can do much. This is an issue with Unreal engine since 3. Since Unreal 4 won't be replaced. Just updated, I have gotten used to it since last gen.

Spenok2217d ago

But assets NEVER loading? I've seen slow loading or pop in frequently in other games... but never COMPLETELY failing to load. Not in a single other game.

This is a glaring issue, and one that absolutely can be addressed.

Segata2217d ago

If you play Caligula Overdose which uses UE4. Some dungeons the textures fail to load and you need to restart the save file to get it to work.

I’d love to know how many units have been sold of all the Final Fantasy VII franchise games, including the original, the remakes, spin offs such as Crisis Core, and mobile games Ever Crisis. I bet a fair few copies.

Modern day publisher be like: "Failed to meet sales expectations. Pivoting to live service."

If you already own it... There, I saved you the click on a deliberately misleading article.

I bought the game yesterday on steam for $4 because Square Enix is trying to replace it with a version that has no mod support.

Prior to yesterday, I had no idea the game had so many great mods until people started making a fuss out of it.

Knightofelemia107d ago

You can thank FF7 scaring Baldur's Gate 2's director 'S***less' for every RPG since

But BG2 didn't emerge in a vacuum, and in a recent chat with Slandered Gaming it emerged that—while we can thank BG2 for a lot of our favourite RPGs since—we have a whole other game to thank for BG2. That'd be Final Fantasy 7, which lit a fire under BG2 director James Ohlen to go all out with the game's structure and companions, per Trent Oster—who worked on the original Baldur's Gate and has since become CEO of Beamdog, the studio behind the BG1 and BG2 Enhanced Editions.
