Mine is still showing as april 10th, maybe it's based on the time you preordered? I put mine in june 2019.

I did, however, get that email for Ghost of Tsushima

@jman1553
I hope you get your copy, but I order plenty of items from Amazon that continue to show the original date, but lately you'll get a notification that the shipment has been delayed, and you'll receive a new delivery "window". Amazon is prioritizing delivery to items that are needed most, so we'll see.

Jman15532247d ago

Yeah, ultimately the game is not important in the slightest. I'm glad they are prioritizing the more essential items for people. Just wanted to point out how things were on my end!

medman2246d ago

I am interested to know if you get it on time or not....let me know!!

Got my physical deluxe edition yesterday from EB Games. Finally being Australian pays off 😅

olorin8182247d ago

I saw that on Twitch yesterday, and it took so much willpower not to watch any of it.

GrizToof2246d ago

I'm happy for ya for real, from America with love. I hope the game is Amazing.

MeteorPanda2247d ago

Australians got their copy 24 hours ago :)

The games fucking amazing. Holy shit the added stuff

CrimsonWing692247d ago

I was watching a stream and I was blown away by it. It really is what I was hoping this Remake would be like. Square’s coming back!

kythlyn2247d ago

Square Enix should just release the game to everyone immediately. At this point street dates seem arbitrary.

medman2247d ago

@kythnlyn
It doesn't work that way. The delivery schedule is set up months in advance. Making changes on a whim, all of a sudden, isn't possible. Think of trying to turn a large vessel around at sea.....maybe you would like to hit the jets and be capable of a complete 180 to head in the other direction, but the reality is any movement in turning in very, very slow. Trying to avoid the iceberg isn't easy. And with the virus affecting shipping routes and schedules worldwide, even more so.

kythlyn2245d ago

Obviously it isn't a perfect solution, but I don't think your metaphor applies to this situation. If Australia already has physical copies in the hands of consumers, I'd assume boxes full of Final Fantasy VII Remake are sitting in back rooms of video game retailers around the world. Square Enix could easily flip a switch on digital copies, announce that due to unusual circumstances they are not enforcing the street date for physical copies, and do the best they can to get the game to everyone as soon as possible. Either way the situation is weird. As it is now, some people have it way early, and others will receive it late. We're gonna deal either way, but I see little reason to stick to the street date at this point.

i mean, well deserved, its one of the best.

VenomUK94d ago

I’d love to know how many units have been sold of all the Final Fantasy VII franchise games, including the original, the remakes, spin offs such as Crisis Core, and mobile games Ever Crisis. I bet a fair few copies.

Modern day publisher be like: "Failed to meet sales expectations. Pivoting to live service."

aaronlif1094d ago

It's an absolute legend of a game. And I honestly really love how the remake trilogy is shaping up so far.

blacktiger93d ago

If you already own it... There, I saved you the click on a deliberately misleading article.

DivineHand125117d ago

I bought the game yesterday on steam for $4 because Square Enix is trying to replace it with a version that has no mod support.

Prior to yesterday, I had no idea the game had so many great mods until people started making a fuss out of it.

Knightofelemia117d ago

I wish Square would port other old games to newer systems I want Xenogears.

gold_drake117d ago

You can thank FF7 scaring Baldur's Gate 2's director 'S***less' for every RPG since

But BG2 didn't emerge in a vacuum, and in a recent chat with Slandered Gaming it emerged that—while we can thank BG2 for a lot of our favourite RPGs since—we have a whole other game to thank for BG2. That'd be Final Fantasy 7, which lit a fire under BG2 director James Ohlen to go all out with the game's structure and companions, per Trent Oster—who worked on the original Baldur's Gate and has since become CEO of Beamdog, the studio behind the BG1 and BG2 Enhanced Editions.
