Do you feel its going to hold back the PS5 version, and if so, are you not interested in the game for that reason?

He's trying to bait someone into an arguement about MSs decision to mandate all 1st party games for XSX also be playable on base XB1s for up to 2yrs so he can try and justify that decision for MS.

He's always been pro Xbox and against everything Sony. So just ignore him, he doesn't even care about the answer. He was just underlining that there will be another "crappy game" for PS5.

This question has nothing to do with owning a PS though. I'm trying to get a sense of how the community feels about this topic. I said nothing negative about Sony or PS at all. I said nothing about Microsoft either. Trying to compare what happened in that thread with this one makes no sense...this is a general gamer's question to better understand the community we have here.

This one is interesting to me. So by your rational, if its designed with next gen in mind, then cross-gen is not a concern when you have the next version that the game was designed for?

No. By my rationale, if it's designed with the intent to keep it running on this gen, then it's not a next gen game. It's a current gen game, that will get upgrades for next gen console. Just like every other cross gen game in history before MS decided to rebrand it as if it was something completely amazing and new, and people forgot that cross gen games are just current gen games with graphical, and maybe performance improvements.

This next gen we're about to go into is going to have a hardware focus shift that is more equivalent to 2D to 3D, than it is PS2->3 and even more advancement than PS3->PS4....where the PS4 gen really does feel like almost all games could be run on last gen consoles if you cut back the graphics settings, and maybe some small concessions to level design.

People are mentioning them, because you are always so quick to make it about that. Your reputation precedes you, and your OP is obviously a statement based on the discussion that came before, which involved both systems, and the one's making the assertion you questioned were the PS4 fans, while you vehemently said that MS was doing the right thing, because really....why should MS try to make next gen games since no games ever take advantage of it.
