GOA Writes : By now you know that there are some issues with the matchmaking system in Gears 2. People have experienced long waits, as much as 45 minutes for a game to start, which is ridiculous.
Well, Rod Fergusson, Senior Producer of Gears 2, put an official post up in the Gears of War forums. Click read more to see what he had to say.

Weird, in mean they had no studios to make anything really new so there's a part of me thats kinda glad they scrapped it. If they released this back then it would of gotten ridiculed for remakes and remastering stuff. Now they have new and interesting games so the collection is harmless.
Geez, Xbox, something like that I would’ve bought Day 1. Great business decisions over there.
10 years ago it wasn’t such a big deal. The games were only a few years old by that point
Gears of War: Ultimate Edition came out in 2015 (essentially 10 years ago), having a follow-up to that on the then next-gen console would’ve absolutely been welcomed, in my book.
I can only assume the the Gears of War Remaster flopped so they decided to scrap the other remakes?
Seems short sighted to me as I really enjoyed the 1st remaster. Regardless, I'll snap up some remakes to play on my PS5.

Gears of War is my favorite video game franchise, and the Locust is my all-time favorite faction.

Agree 100% with this ranking. The campaign in Gears of War 2 is among the most fun campaigns ever made. It’s been downhill from there.
2 is still my favorite but 5 is also up there (for me). Then I'd say 1, 3, 4 and Judgement. Tactics isnt the same type of game, so it seems odd to rank it among TPS when its a strategy game. So I make that one all its own. Pretty fun game too.
The first is and has always been the best one imo - the story, the levels, the set pieces, the soundtrack - as close to perfect as a campaign can get.
I’d say the series had been on a continual downhill slide until 5.

Judgement
I love the series as a whole, but 4 was pretty by the numbers, and Judgement was just ok.
I played them all since picking up a Series X about 7 months ago. Personally, I don't think time has been kind to the earlier games and they feel very slow and repetitive to play. Whilst the newer games may be prettier, they stick with the original gameplay mechanics too much in my view so as a whole series of titles, I think they are pretty average games.
Not to say they weren't fun and I have a lot of nostalgia for 1 and 2, I just think there are far better action games out there.
What's the best Gears of War game for players? Where to start? This guide should easily lend a hand.
It's brilliant but personally liked part one more. It's the only one that had a near horror movie vibe to it in parts, the atmosphere was amazing.

Mad World was such a perfect song for that trailer. I loved part 1 too just because it was so fresh at the time. The series has been solid, but experiencing everything for the first time was pretty awesome.
Gears of War 2 has one of the greatest campaigns of all time. Carmine, all that juice, fighting inside a giant worm, and riding monsters.
Gears 1 and 2 will always be my favorite Gears titles. The scene where Dom find his wife and then has to shoot her was an epic scene.
I always found that scene laughably bad myself. Fantastic game though.
1 will always be my favourite. Most were great with the exception of 4 being okay and judgement being terrible.
They still have the most satisfying headshots from any multiplayer game around.

Gears Of War is my favorite video game franchise. I can’t imagine how Gears 6 will look in UE5 after watching Hellblade 2 gameplay trailer
There is a rumored Marcus Fenix collection (Gears 2 & 3 remake) in the works at the Coalition. Hopefully, it’s true, but I doubt it.
For me you can't beat gears 1 the original was so fresh and revolutionary at the time.

Played them all recently on gamepass. Great games. But my favorites gotta be gears tactics. Don’t know why. I just had a blast with it lol

Queers of Bore 2 has to be one of the most disappointing titles Dark Sniper has ever laid his eyes on. Visually, it's very sore on the eyes as the game suffers from terrible draw distance and frame rate hiccups. Online is even more atrocious simply because it's unplayable. Microsolaves have shown much more hypocrisy when it comes to issues like this. They're not willing to wait on mandatory PS3 game installs, but yet they will wait 45-60 minutes in order to join an online match in their favorite Xbox 360 game.
Queers of Bore 2 is a severely flawed franchise that needs a boost with PS3 hardware. When Gears of War 3 is announced as a multiplatform title, Dark Sniper definitely thinks it will get the critical acclaim it's looking for.

Dark Sniper, you are the biggest nerd I have ever come across online. Has anyone else noticed this moron refers to himself in the third person? Dark Sniper needs to find a girlfriend. "Queers of bore 2"? That doesn't even make any sense. "Microslaves", what? You know what was funny about 15 years ago? It was people taking words and keeping half of them correct and changing the other half of the word to something that is unfunny and unclever. How can you say it is visually poor? You are either A) color blind or B) Have the eyes of Hellen Keller. The only thing PS3 would do for Gears of War 3 would be to lower the sales. Sony is AWFUL at advertising and that is the only thing that will bring down Killzone 2. The game will be great, but the advertising is a joke. Dark Sniper, if you are a PS3 fanboy, then go to your articles and stop commenting in Xbox related threads. Dude, stop talking in the third person, you sound like a gigantic nerd.
My friend who is a Gears nut is really disappointed with Gears 2 Online play. This should at least address one of his complaints.
