what difference does that make hahaha , i will still grab it ;)

Nitrowolf22286d ago

because a lot of games set up with this tend to have performance issue for a week of piracy protection.
So basically legit buyers could get the short stick

Exactly the point, games usually sell the majority of copies within a few days of release.

What’s the point? will still be hacked.

excaliburps2286d ago

Yep. It will. I give it 10 days. LOL!

SegaGamer2286d ago (Edited 2286d ago )

It will, but they know that. The reason Denuvo is added is to stop it being hacked in the first few days or weeks. They think it will put people off pirating the game in early weeks of a games release. I'm not sure if it works, but they keep doing it, so maybe it does.

Some games have Denuvo removed after a period of time. This is usually way after it's release though.

TheCaptainKuchiki2285d ago

The whole point of a marketing strategy is to build up enough interest for the game till the day it releases. The bulk of sales will happen during the first weeks. Denuvo is actually effective in stopping piracy for the first weeks of a game's release. That's all they want, they know they can't stop the game from getting cracked.

Lionsguard2285d ago

I doubt a hacked game will still have the online features and trust me, you want the online features. Without it, this game would be a very very very very..............[10 hours later]....very very very tedious slog.

Hideo Kojima put Low Roar in Death Stranding because gamers need more culture in their lives

It's important in life to maintain a broad palette when it comes to culture and the arts. Hideo Kojima agrees, as he continues to use video games like Death Stranding to introduce people to music and other elements they might not otherwise discover.

Cool, as long as no one is losing their job while already rich people make more money.

Notellin231d ago

Exactly this right here. Tools should never replace creators.

DarXyde230d ago

I feel that this is the position of every sensible person. However, we face two prominent issues:

1. There are nefarious actors (like Microsoft) who want to prohibit AI regulation. Some US states have some regulations in place, but it's very patchwork at best.

2. Without strict quality control and human review, AI is very likely to hallucinate in embarrassing ways.

Lol.... People are gonna be losing their jobs...

Travesty231d ago

I’m all in favor for faster developed games.. that’s been the Achilles heel this gen.. taking 5+ years for development. If it can help with building vast landscapes then let it be. A win win if it doesn’t endanger the jobs of current team. They can help in other areas.

The road to hell is paved with good intentions.

H9231d ago

I don't doubt kojima that he has good intentions and would use AI without compromising the creative process, but you know for sure other development will say the same and have AI make the whole game for them.

Notellin231d ago (Edited 231d ago )

Yeah and whoever he works for or whatever AI models he chooses to use will train on his data and work to replace Kojima themselves.

I can't imagine any other creator in gaming that demands the salary size of Kojima.

What I wonder about, let’s say five years from now. Will an individual be able to make a triple A title using A.I…If so what would be the need for others? I hate to say it but eventually people will loose their jobs. Because I hear no talk about the ethics of using A.I. among the big companies.
