The first next gen game shown off thus far and its jaw dropping.

JeffGUNZ2163d ago

Looks so real, absolutely beautiful.

@timotim

Indeed. It´s amazing.

Ricegum2163d ago

Looks nice. But it's definitely a niche game, really not for everyone.

timotim2163d ago

I said nothing of its popularity...thats a conversation for another time. Doesn't change the fact that it is the first next gen game shown though and it looks damn good. Should be a great title for those that are into these kinds of games.

as is Ace Combat 7 or Gran Turismo for that matter. Those who like Racing games, play racing games. Those who like Flight sims, play flight sims.

Close the door on your way out, please. Thanks.

It's not for everyone, because calling it a game is a stretch. But, I wouldn't necessarily call it niche. It has a huge following.

Finally hitting that point where things are legit photo-realistic. I remember thinking graphics couldn't get more real when Goldeneye came out but this time I mean it.

Graphics definitely have a lot of room to improve even from Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020.
I was thinking about hpw much more can be done to improve DRIVECLUB's visuals after I saw it and played it and drove around for a few hours admiring the real world and reminiscing about how glorious DRIVECLUB is... but it occurred to me that DRIVECLUB is just a great starting point and most of its realism came from it's rather accomplished GI lighting systems.

Even looking at incredible scenes in movies with CGI effects there is massive room for improvement but off-line renders can literally take days to render a frame on computers thousands of times more powerful than a top-of-the line home workstation & server setup (way more powerful than any conventional gaming PC).

I want these graphics, but in a DCS-style combat sim. Make it happen, MS.
