This is quite possibly the dumbest question I have seen on N4G in a long time...

Until people stop feasting on micro-transactions for FIFA and Madden, EA will not need saving nor will they have to question their morality and business practices.

Just in the last year, some of the biggest companies has gone down the hill, s*****ng their own pants while doing it.

Bethesda has become a laughable meme.
EA has been slapped left and right.
Ubisoft found out that even casuals catch on when a publisher only uses 1 template for all their AAA games.
Activision Blizzard has been in one PR disaster after the other.
Even Nintendo (well, gamefreak) has f****D over players now.

There seems to be a pattern here.

Save it from what? The company had more revenue in 2019 than 2018 and had more people playing their games as well.

* Digital net bookings* for the trailing twelve months was a record $3.883 billion, up 8% year-over-year and represents 78% of total net bookings.
* The number of FIFA Ultimate Team™ unique players increased 22% year-over-year.
* The number of Madden Ultimate Team™ unique players increased 19% year-over-year.
* Apex Legends™ has had 70 million players life to date.
* The Sims™ 4 monthly average players are up more than 40% year-over-year.

Tell me again how the multiplatform strategy was supposed to fix everything. Look at your results and compare them to Nintendo, which keeps thriving with exclusives. Your loyal fans are gone. And let’s not forget the pile of IPs you purchased only to let them rot.

The worst thing is this is down from last years numbers/expectations which was down from the previous years numbers/expectations. You think about how long “down” has been a consistent part of the communication and you realize those subscriptions are what’s holding that boat together. The price cut of gamespass is still a price raise in a string of price raises. They are trying to use players to offset the missing revenue. Now call of duty is out of gamespass, which is literally WHY they bought the company. To draw people to the subscription. They realized they missed a boatload of money and that wasn’t sustainable. Now you pay for it like you would have if they never bought the company… so why buy the company? Mind you those billions still need to be paid back. Yeah it gives you a chance to say we make the biggest FPS… but the internal conversations must be brutal at high level on topics that really matter. Like revenue. Profitability. And ROI for the shopping spree.
