While I don't share the same sentiment, I did enjoy renting TF2 for the campaign. It was quick, breezy, fun, but ultimately forgettable. I don't care for CoD-style multiplayer, so I never touched it.
Jedi Order is fun as well, but also very much an amalgamation of many previous games that have come before, while also lacking in polish featuring plenty of goofy / glitchy animations.

I'm glad to see Respawn see some success, especially after their tumultuous history. First they made Medal of Honor games (the good ones) for EA. Then EA mistreated them, so they quit and created a rival series Call of Duty for Activsion. Then Activison mistreated them, so they quit and went back to EA. I hope they're getting better treatment now.

As for "winning the generation" my favorite games this generation are MGS V and Death Stranding, so to me, its Kojima Productions.

We got amazing games from many developers, games like dmc5, bloodborne, sekiro, star wars, spiderman, death stranding, uncharted, forza, grand turismo, horizon zero dawn, red dead redemption 2, life is strange, god of war, titanfall 2, resident evil 2 remake and soon re3 remake. In my opinion there is no victor. The ones who are victorious are us the gamers.

They made a huge mistake making Titanfall 1 exclusive.

Titanfall 2s launch was a disaster *great game but it relied on multiplayer and that's not good if there's no community.

Apex was excellent but they took far too long to add content and the battle Pass was a blatant attempt at robbery.

I've yet to play Star Wars

They've been a good developer but seriously can't even consider these in the shortlist of best of a generation

There's not 1 definite company who won the generation. People claiming another Dev did need to not do so, because there are hundreds of factors that show it's not just 1 company that did it, but many.

I've still yet to play titalfall 2. (free this month on ps+ - to keep or delete & re-download as many times as you want - it's supposed to be great)

Curreny playing wrekfest! Gt sport and the new. Modernwarfare online. So many great games about its a joke.

It's Square Enix ,look at tr ,so much better than uncharted, and there are plenty other games from them.

I don't know about them winning the whole generation, but the fact that a new studio was able to release 4 well-received titles under the terrible ownership of EA is impressive, and I give them props for their success.

This win that win, let us all just agree that in the end what's important is; we, gamers, win.

The whole concept of winning a generation is outdated and stupid. That statement funnels all game liking people into a single sheep like entity and you're high to think all gamers like the same things.

Ummm. No. Their games are okay but not generation defining. IMHO. No system sellers or anything but they have been pretty consistent.

Tell me again how the multiplatform strategy was supposed to fix everything. Look at your results and compare them to Nintendo, which keeps thriving with exclusives. Your loyal fans are gone. And let’s not forget the pile of IPs you purchased only to let them rot.

The worst thing is this is down from last years numbers/expectations which was down from the previous years numbers/expectations. You think about how long “down” has been a consistent part of the communication and you realize those subscriptions are what’s holding that boat together. The price cut of gamespass is still a price raise in a string of price raises. They are trying to use players to offset the missing revenue. Now call of duty is out of gamespass, which is literally WHY they bought the company. To draw people to the subscription. They realized they missed a boatload of money and that wasn’t sustainable. Now you pay for it like you would have if they never bought the company… so why buy the company? Mind you those billions still need to be paid back. Yeah it gives you a chance to say we make the biggest FPS… but the internal conversations must be brutal at high level on topics that really matter. Like revenue. Profitability. And ROI for the shopping spree.

Is this like the 10th quarter in a row they're down 33% on hardware how is that even mathematically possible. You would think their mediocrity would Plateau
