That game was too much of a masterpiece. It doesn’t need a remake.

The Resi 2 remake was so excellent that I wouldn't turn down any game in the series getting the same treatment least of all one of the best. Same as RE2 make it more grown up and scary and I'd be tempted to ditch all the QTEs too. It could end up being quite different and fresh if handled right.

I'd keep the core game the same I don't get the calls to completely change it. Just less cheese when possible and those stunning graphics and gameplay.

I hate when people say "it still looks good", so it can't fricking look and play even better? What's the issue with having a thing you already like being improved?

RE4 with the new RE engine would sell millions, it's inevitable whatever you like it or not

I've played many remakes/remasters and loved many because the people who remake them are the originals or by dedicated fans who came through with the project.
For sure, the remake will be scarier and more epic.

But I'd still LIKE one. Just because you remake something doesn't mean the original suddenly vanishes off the face of the earth.

I agree I would like to see a resident evil 4 remake

It needs a complete remake on new RE engine for current and next Gen consoles. The controls alone are reason enough for remake and on top of that make proper story/gameplay improvements

I tend to agree with this sentiment. While I love RE4, it did more for action games like Gears of War and not so much for , well Resident Evil games. It also led to 5&6 which are fine action games but they damn nearly brought the series to its knees.

I know part 7 is divisive (I loved it) but because it went back to its roots and was successful it has led to RE2 and RE3 being completely remade. I liked the idea of being an "every man " in 7. You're not an elite operative but someone who's more in line with us.

Anyways I think 4 can be its own thing and I'd like Code Veronica to get another shot because it's probably the least played RE game and I think it'd blow a lot of people away if remade.

I'm not entirely sure how they would remake RE4 in a way that captures what makes RE4 work: at heart it's an action game (with a lot of DNA in common with DMC, which was another action game that was originally an RE game) more so than a shooter (i.e. the focus is on close quarters combat/crowd management rather than tracking sight lines and doing offset calculations to account for weapon fire rate/accuracy)... and if Capcom remake it I have a feeling it would be in the vein of a standard TPS.
