I think RE needs a split timeline... From Resident Evil 4 onward they deviated too much from the classic survival horror style. Now that the remakes are gaining traction they should look into making sequels in the same vein.

I think so. The controls need updating and it'd be cool to have a version of it without all the cheese. Make it darker and scarier.

The first part needs a remake (best RE game). RE4 is not even funny. That is probably the only remake I wouldn't buy togheter with RE5 and 6.

I liked the game a lot, but as a resi title it took too much away from what resident evil was, while kinda setting up what the future games were going to be like, which I didnt like anywhere near as much, if they could remake it and change the storyline a bit, change the las plaguas to zombies and I'd be happy enough to buy it.

The controls definitely needs to be updated, especially the camera controls and maybe remove those terrible QTE. Other than that the game is great minus the last section of the game where it goes full on call of duty. It would be cool to see a remake but honestly I would be ok if they decided against it.

No. If they want to continue with the remakes, Code Veronica or Zero should be next.
They could also just stop, and make RE8, using what they learned from RE2R and RE3R.

RE4 already uses the 3rd person gameplay similar to RE2, and RE3 remakes. If any game needs the new gameplay, graphics & mechanics it's RE1 and then Capcom should remake "RE: Code Veronica", perhaps even RE0

RE4 is so damn good if they were making a remake I’d want them to make it different enough to be worthwhile but not deviate from the feel and setting, as they’re important.

It could be called something else though.. And include the normal game with updated controls/textures/lighting. VR support and an optional switch to first person would be really fun if they ramped up the detail.

Capcom cannot replicate RE4 level of depth in a cheap engine like RE Engine , the capacity of RE Engine is so limited and so bad that it wont work on it , the only option is to develop it on an updated MT Framework engine , the question is .. do i agree on making RE4 remake on the same structure .. They will remake RE4. The diehards didn't like it but it introduced a whole new set of people to the series and it made capcom a megaton of money.

I kinda want a remake of RE4 with RE6 controls, and adjusted enemies behavior, to make them more aggressive etc. Why not? But then you also need the new game engine and all that stuff... Oh, well.

I think Capcom should 1up on everyone and do a Resident Evil 2 Remake, again. Same team and everything, just for the hell of it. It's almost a year old now anyway.

Of course it needs a remake, who wouldn't want RE4 in a new engine with better graphics/animations...etc. I wouldn't want them to change much, keep it close to the original.

Considering the changes made in 2 and no doubt 3, I wouldn't mind one.

However, I'd much rather Code Veronica and eve RE1 get this treatment first.
