Gears 5 firmly establishes a new face of the franchise but also adds a bad microtransaction model for its multiplayer while struggling with limited content during a rough post-launch period.

For nearly two decades, GOG has built its identity around DRM-free releases and classic games that actually work on modern PCs. Good lord that is an in-depth analysis
I think Gears 5 is a great game with a terrible, unrewarding progression system. Their simply are enough weapon, characters and skins to readily unlock( without excessive grinding). The number rod available characters in MP is far to low, as many classic characters aren’t playable. You can’t really unlock anything meaningful through general play and levelling up.
In an interview, Phil Spencer mentioned the economy of Gears 5 without being directly asked. This proves that the head of Xbox is aware of the concerns relating to Gears 5 progression system and MTs. Thus, I believe changes must be coming to the games store and progression system. If positive changes don’t occur, the store and progression system will cause long-term harm to Gears 5.
I wonder if MS will launch another AAA title on their streaming service because Gears 5's physical sales are in the dumpster.
Nice to see somebody went way over the top to call this blatant elephant in the room with this game. The subreddit is nothing but demands for carmine characters or problems being brought up again and again. I don't blame the community because TC knew what they were doing removing things people liked about the previous games.
It's an excellent read, but all you need to do is go to Page 2 and read the last paragraph.
