Revealed on Inside Xbox today, Last Stop is the new game from Variable State, creators of the award-winning Virginia, and will be published by Annapurna Interactive. The game is a single-player third-person adventure set in present day London, where you play as three separate characters whose worlds collide in the midst of a supernatural crisis. Last Stop is an anthology connecting three stories in one, centered on secret lives, the ties that bind, and how magic can be found in the mundane.

Last Stop is an immersive and amusing narrative-driven game which follows the lives of four people as they bear witness to strange, Twilight-esque events.

Now that we are a little past halfway through 2021, some of the VGU crew take a moment to talk about their personal top games of 2021.

VGChartz's Lee Mehr: "In the end, Last Stop's anthology set-up has a tendency to separate more than mix. The chapter select structure and the disparate quality tends to make the better story (Paper Dolls) pull more than its weight. But regardless of writing, the whole effort feels limited in enabling players to properly connect with the title's characters. Variable State's "game design austerity" feels rigid and characterless to the point of being guided through a clear hamster tube. An admitted improvement over Virginia for me, but it still has a ways to go."
I disagree with that score. I really enjoyed this game. Its probably my favorite "walking sim" type game since life is strange. Great characters, interesting story, and good humor at times. 7 out of 10 for me.
looks interesting
