Why is reporting something as lame a thing? Isn't that one person's opinion on someone else's opinion? And then we get in trouble for approving something with reports on them?

tonyjames4042406d ago

I know right?!?!? And you try and report the report to admins and they are like "Ohh you can still get approvals", but you never really do

Spenok2404d ago

I've always reached out to people to push past the sh**ty admins reports of "lame." It works every time. Screw them.

ArchangelMike2406d ago

I hear you, but in this case - it is lame, and is just an excuse for another snuff piece on Death Stranding. The game has already been reviewed, and alot more information about the game has been released; not to mention a good and overall positive metacritic rating of 85. Yet the author of the article is casting aspersions and making statements as though the game is not receiving an overall positive critical response - despite the alleged "issues" that the author claims are reasons why the game will fail.

What does it even mean for a game to fail? It has a metacritic score of 85. Does that not automatically mean the game has succeeded?

jakewhritenour2405d ago

Even so, it wouldn't make sense to report it as lame as that's still an opinion on an opinion piece. Probably should have just picked other. But it hasn't released yet so there is time for this opinion piece to remain relevant.

Knushwood Butt2404d ago

No, it's just clickbait trash.

OB1Biker2405d ago (Edited 2405d ago )

I mean it could be relevant if it was about sales but the author is trying to assume things about the game he doesn't know that are demonstrated and explained in the reviews one way or another depending on opinions.. What's the point?

Kran2404d ago

Why is reporting something as fantastic a thing? Isn't that one person's opinion on someone else's opinion? And then we get in trouble for approving something with reports on them.

As you can see, the argument works no matter what. Let people write what they want.

That's just what you use when none of the other things apply.

It wont fail, it has scored well, has Kojimas name to it and is eagerly anticipated by the PS community, myself included, DS will be fine.

rainslacker2405d ago

Any game can fail. Reviews don't matter. Any game could fail for the same reasons as any other game, even if those reasons aren't based on reality or relevant to that game.

In other words, an article like this that does nothing but attach itself to a current games hype, is pointless. Write about it if it fails, and analyze why it failed if need be, but assumptive journalism is the stupidest form of journalism....outside political commentary shows and reporting on controversy because one person tweets they're upset about something.

Titanfall 2 got excellent reviews and it failed.

Ratchet752404d ago

Titanfall 2 failed because EA messed up. They released it between two fps juggernauts(COD infinite warfare , BATTLEFIELD1)and big AAA games like FF15,Dishonored2, watchdogs2.
If EA had waited until february or march 2017, the game would have had a much better chance to shine imo.

Hideo Kojima put Low Roar in Death Stranding because gamers need more culture in their lives

It's important in life to maintain a broad palette when it comes to culture and the arts. Hideo Kojima agrees, as he continues to use video games like Death Stranding to introduce people to music and other elements they might not otherwise discover.

Cool, as long as no one is losing their job while already rich people make more money.

Notellin232d ago

Exactly this right here. Tools should never replace creators.

DarXyde232d ago

I feel that this is the position of every sensible person. However, we face two prominent issues:

1. There are nefarious actors (like Microsoft) who want to prohibit AI regulation. Some US states have some regulations in place, but it's very patchwork at best.

2. Without strict quality control and human review, AI is very likely to hallucinate in embarrassing ways.

TheEroica232d ago

Lol.... People are gonna be losing their jobs...

Travesty232d ago

I’m all in favor for faster developed games.. that’s been the Achilles heel this gen.. taking 5+ years for development. If it can help with building vast landscapes then let it be. A win win if it doesn’t endanger the jobs of current team. They can help in other areas.

Gamersunite880232d ago

The road to hell is paved with good intentions.

H9232d ago

I don't doubt kojima that he has good intentions and would use AI without compromising the creative process, but you know for sure other development will say the same and have AI make the whole game for them.

Notellin232d ago (Edited 232d ago )

Yeah and whoever he works for or whatever AI models he chooses to use will train on his data and work to replace Kojima themselves.

I can't imagine any other creator in gaming that demands the salary size of Kojima.

rlow1232d ago

What I wonder about, let’s say five years from now. Will an individual be able to make a triple A title using A.I…If so what would be the need for others? I hate to say it but eventually people will loose their jobs. Because I hear no talk about the ethics of using A.I. among the big companies.
