Death Stranding: The Kotaku Review

There is no elevator pitch for Death Stranding.

Gatsu2268d ago

Very well written review.

UltraNova2268d ago

Perhaps the best I've read so far for DeathS. Deep and all encompassing.

CaptainObvious8782268d ago

Seems like a lot of people are saying this review is very well written. It's a pity because I refuse to consume anything from this toxic, sexist site.

rainslacker2268d ago

I kind of want to read it, because they gave a glowing review to RDR2, and somewhere tucked in there they said the game wasn't fun, then spent 10 paragraphs talking about how detailed the plant and animal life was. I've seen a lot of the same criticisms I've had for RDR2 applied to DS, so I want to know Kotaku's take, but I'm the same way....i don't really like going to their site.

A game world as empty as the Kotaku offices?

Damrock2268d ago (Edited 2268d ago )

Funny seeing so many comments about "Damage Control"

The game currently has 13 perfect 10's and 26 other reviews with a 9+ score

Clearly your either going to love it or hate it, Some people just seem to want to hate it before even playing it.

HexxedAvenger2268d ago

I was just looking for that. Lol I appreciate your comic. Moreover, holy crap, when’s the last time a game just got 9s and 10s?!

zackeroniii2268d ago

"some people just seem to want to hate it before playing it"

you can also say that some people want to love it before playing it as well...and i know how much kojimas cult worships anything he puts out even if what he releases is completely mediocre at best...

it's all a facade but people think they are woke because they can play a completely non sensical game and try to spin it to make it seem like it's deeper than it actually is...

that's what kojima tricks people into doing.

P_Bomb2268d ago (Edited 2268d ago )

Eh. You’re doing the same thing across multiple posts that you accused people of doing to COD. Play what you like, don’t dwell on what you don’t.

Kojima AFTER Review Scores - "Kept you debating, huh?"

UltraNova2268d ago

Hehe, surely part of his grand scheme...

Shezgear2268d ago

Just like the last guardian, I wont trust reviews. Even if its perfect 10s or 1s and 2s. I played it for myself and loved it!! I cant wait for this game! 1 more week!!

alb18992268d ago

After what I have seen I won't pay 60 plus my time for this but I really understand the one who will love it.
I hope a lot of people like it because is good for the industry and for us that developers takes risks.

I feel the same , i will get it after xmas 2nd hand i think.

Cool, as long as no one is losing their job while already rich people make more money.

Notellin91d ago

Exactly this right here. Tools should never replace creators.

DarXyde90d ago

I feel that this is the position of every sensible person. However, we face two prominent issues:

1. There are nefarious actors (like Microsoft) who want to prohibit AI regulation. Some US states have some regulations in place, but it's very patchwork at best.

2. Without strict quality control and human review, AI is very likely to hallucinate in embarrassing ways.

TheEroica90d ago

Lol.... People are gonna be losing their jobs...

Travesty91d ago

I’m all in favor for faster developed games.. that’s been the Achilles heel this gen.. taking 5+ years for development. If it can help with building vast landscapes then let it be. A win win if it doesn’t endanger the jobs of current team. They can help in other areas.

Gamersunite88091d ago

The road to hell is paved with good intentions.

H991d ago

I don't doubt kojima that he has good intentions and would use AI without compromising the creative process, but you know for sure other development will say the same and have AI make the whole game for them.

Notellin91d ago (Edited 91d ago )

Yeah and whoever he works for or whatever AI models he chooses to use will train on his data and work to replace Kojima themselves.

I can't imagine any other creator in gaming that demands the salary size of Kojima.

rlow191d ago

What I wonder about, let’s say five years from now. Will an individual be able to make a triple A title using A.I…If so what would be the need for others? I hate to say it but eventually people will loose their jobs. Because I hear no talk about the ethics of using A.I. among the big companies.
