A look at the role of Hideo Kojima in modern gaming and his status as a creative mind.
"It was so offensive to me"
Cliff Bleszinski shares thoughts on Gears of War’s PlayStation debut, E-Day, and Microsoft’s Game Pass strategy.

The narrative deduction title is available on Steam, Nintendo Switch, and the App Store for just $7.
Interesting article (if a bit tl:dr - I did read it all though). I agree that Kojima is an artist, however, I think you're being overly reductionist in your assessment of Death Stranding. As with everything, a game is more than the sum of it's parts.
Think about music - a very powerful an emotive art form. Consider for a moment that there are (normally) only 7 notes in music. However you never say that you're not going to buy or listen to new music because all those 7 notes have been used before by other musicians - an therefore "it's nothing new". That would be ridiculous, because each artist combines those 7 notes in such a way that it creates new musical sounds and audio experiences.
The same is true for game mechanics - you could simply say we Death Stranding is nothing new because "it's just another 3rd person shooter." However that statement would be wholly disingenuous, because there is so much more going on than just a combination of game mechanics. Again, to put it simply the game is more than the sum of it's parts.
Moreover, "never judge a book by it's cover" is a mantra you would do well to remember - and it seems that this has been the whole point of your article -> to judge the game before you've actually played it. This is called prejudice - and it is the basis of unfairness, marginalisation and discrimination, and it shouldn't be encouraged. Play the game first and then give honest unbiased opinions. However, from this article it seems that your bias is already on display.
