Blizzard Forcibly Name-Changed WoW Guild 'Make Azeroth Great Again'

“[Blizzard] did the same thing to my WoW Classic guild ‘Make Azeroth Great Again,’ which was just a tongue-in-cheek name for what was really just a social guild. We got it changed back, and then twelve hours later it was force-changed again,” Cogblast explained.

How truly stupid on Blizzard's side. I honestly would like to know, why do they want more bad press? You'd think after Blizzard bowing down to China they'd want to get back in the good graces with their customers, but no they continue down this stupid pass.

tombfan2392d ago

It's more like... People are nitpicking every move they make. Maybe this was a normal practice but now everyone freaks out.

Sophisticated_Chap2392d ago (Edited 2392d ago )

No, they changed it because they are politically biased and they do not like Trump. If MAGA had of been O'Bama's catch phrase, it would be no problem.

IMissJimRyan2392d ago

How dare you Blizzard? Sjw and politics must be removed from my games. But right wing stuff is just for fun and humor.

ravinash2392d ago

Can't anyone take a joke anymore.
Anyone from either side of the political divide could use this...

Uuhh not the same.

Injecting a sexist and racist ideology into a gaming narrative is not the same as a simple guide name.

But Blizzards obvious hypocrisy is fine, though, as you deliberately omit that fact.

Also, tell me how many centrists and right wingers would flag a guild named Biden2020? I gaurantee it wouldn't be anywhere near the amount that flaged that guild in the article.

You're reaching for hypocrisy where there is none.

Im not a trump supporter and despise his politics, but taking the slogan and flipping it to fit a fan's you like, doesn't hurt any one. I did it for mutt fantasy football team. This is ridiculous. Smh.

Not looking good. Hopefully Asha Sharma is able to turn Phil’s disaster around.

dveio12d ago

To me it's still quite remarkable how they can cash-in 5.3bn in revenue in a single quarter, since their hardware is basically dead.

Jingsing12d ago

The stock mark is what makes Microsoft remarkable, They have convinced every institutional and retail investor to just keep piling money into them. Like many big tech giants they are just a big growing pyramid scheme. As long as people keep dropping money into ETF's that cover the market Microsoft will always be liquid. At the same time it is completely stifling innovation and competition. People need to start being more discreet in how they invest their money as it's killing the system.

Tanktopmaster9212d ago

Once they re-evaluate exclusive all will be fine….

S2Killinit12d ago

Riiiiight because people will just flock back to them for one or two games per year.

Jingsing12d ago

15+ years of bad performance is what they call irreparable in business. It is time for them to sell off the assets and get out of entertainment.

Tanktopmaster9212d ago

These declines are on the back of extra revenue received from releasing games like Forza horizon 5 on PlayStation. So I’m being sarcastic here when I said they should go back to exclusives. Killing off a revenue stream from Ps5 sales will only make things worse
