What happened to the good old days, where you had to grind to get the good loot, instead of just being able to level yourself up with the season pass?
Going through your day, unlocking certain weapons and accessories to make everything just a little bit better and fully customize your arsenal.
Just game companies being greedy is all. Pay more and get more. I don't like this model, but it obviously makes them some.money and there's always people with extra money on their hands that want the customization or spend less time grinding for items.
Me on the other hand, I'll either grind to earn it or I'll stop playing when it is no longer fun anymore. I've already supported it financially by purchasing it in the first place.
What happened? Greed took over, that is what happened. Unchecked, shameless, endless greed.
I can't fault a company for looking for ways to earn more but there should be a line that you don't cross. People say that there is no morality in business. Well, there should be. Shareholders should not have the power they do either.
We need to find a healthy balance otherwise everything will be ruined by greed. I don't think it will happen any time soon as radical changes would need to be made.
It is in human nature that if I give you $2million, and you know I have $10 million, you will be angry at me for only giving you two million and will do anything to get more from me or even all of it from me. Sad, but true.
We have nobody to blame but ourselves, these developers will only do what they can get away with. We caused this (well not me as I dont participate in this buffoonery) You caused this, so you have to reap what you sow. Back in the day you had to grind or beat the game for legendary weapons, extra charachters or costumes, and now you gotta pay extra on top of your 60.00. I blame parents mostly as there letting there kids swipe away with there cards.
It's a shame. Kids that grow up with mobile gaming nowadays are molded by it and they are ok with in game expenses. Also, It's sad that single player is getting obsolete. I don't play MP games(It was free on the ps3 and they started to charge for it on ps4 so I let my sub expire), and SP games are become more and more rare risky for them. Maybe I look like a dinosaur with my words, but for example if Capcom is saying that they sold +/- 5 millions of RE2MAKE across ALL platforms when you have like 150 millions systems combined(just consoles). It deserved better. And DMC5 was even worse.
I am not happy that today market is "Fortnite and other games", but I guess this is what kids are into :(
I am glad that other companies try to get some chunk of that action but fail miserably not realising the GENIUS move that was making Fortnite free to start, but they still want a 60 dollars from you upfront.
