Mass Effect 3 is Perfection

Mass Effect 3 is perfection - Mass Effect 3 gets a bad rap, but it's one of the best games ever made and the perfect conclusion to Shepard's story.

Loved the game until it got to the final cutscene. Felt a bit off. Fun game nevertheless

camel_toad2404d ago

About the same here. ME2 was one of my all time favorites. ME3's original conclusion left a little something to be desired but I was still ok with it - the "corrected" ending(s) even more so. BUT GEEZ I couldn't even finish the slog that was Andromeda. Different team, different game.

"ME2 was one of my all time favorites."

that's when EA came to the series isn't it?

BLizardXD2404d ago

I enjoyed my experience for the whole series.
but i would definitely agree that series should have had more endings.
and that having played the series over and over, not all of the choices you make change much of your ending.

Dirty_Lemons2404d ago

Same deal for me, the original trilogy is one of my favourite stories and experiences, Andromeda was just mehhhhhhh.

Manubiggs2404d ago

I love the original trilogy, played through all with both male and female Shepherds multiple times - but damn, I have not been able to finish Andromeda once ...and believe me I have tried many times

Game itself was great. But the ending left a lot to be desired. I wasn't that upset with the nature of the conclusion at the end, just the empty psychobabble that came along with it. It was a rather weak attempt at appearing deep, but ultimately is a common failing of story telling in games where they forgo an epic conclusion for the sake of trying to present something intelligent and thoughtful. it's the worst way to end a story that doesn't spend it's time trying to force the player/reader to think about that kind of abstract stuff throughout.

Ausbo2404d ago

Mass effect 3 was fantastic. However, it’s not better than 2 or 1

Gaming4Life19812404d ago

Completely agree with what you said. Mass effect 2 is my favorite but all mass effect games are great.

Dom_Estos2404d ago

Yeah, 2 was not only the best ME, but one of the best games ever made, and still is, full stop. People love to moan about ME3, but then when you put it next to ME Andromeda, that should quickly end all debate in an instant. The way I look at it is that all 3 Mass Effects make up one absolutely incredible saga from start to finish. They all compliment each other, and are all essential to the ME trilogy.

Tross2404d ago (Edited 2404d ago )

I actually enjoyed it more than 1, but that's largely thanks to the Citadel DLC...or just the DLC in general (without which the game feels incomplete). Overall though, 2 is still my favourite of the three.

diesoft2404d ago

Um it was a good game for sure but the day-one $10 dlc character (that was built up from ME1) left a real bad taste in my mouth and the "your-choices-matter-but- not-really" style ending didn't deliver. So, no, not perfection. Worth playing absolutely, though.

The_Sage2404d ago

It wasn't just a character, it was an entire mission with a great story that brought another great character to the team. If you didn't go for it You did yourself a disservice. Some of the conversations between him and Shepard were really great.

Poopmist2404d ago

And one of the best quotes of the series from Jahvik too

The_Sage2404d ago

This one, poopmist?

“Stand in the ashes of a trillion dead souls, and then ask the ghosts if honor matters”

diesoft2404d ago

And that pissed me off that he was important enough to the series then EA made him a day-1 dlc for $10. Nope. I'm positive it was worth it and memorable but that bothered me too much despite my love of the story.

rainslacker2404d ago

It was obviously ripped out of the story for DLC content, because there was so much integrated into the regular game which made more sense with that character being there.

I got the season pass free with the strategy guide I brought through GameStop, so I did have it, but knowing how those scenes would play out without that character makes it apparent what happened during production.

Awful ending
Over the top action over RPG goodness
Felt dumbed down and generic
Horrible multiplayer added
Unfinished areas like the Omega DLC

It was the weakest out of all 3

meatnormous2404d ago

I actually played the hell out of the multiplayer on both ps3 and pc. It was always populated and people still play it to this day.

Godmars2902404d ago

Multiplayer has nothing to do with the game's story.

DarkOcelet2404d ago

I really loved the multiplayer in ME3 and ironically enough, I thought it was the best thing in the game. Wish the story had a better conclusion.

Dom_Estos2404d ago

And yet, it shits all over ME:A and is still an essential part to the trilogy.

Stop nitpicking. It's still an amazing game.

The_Sage2404d ago

Absolutely, Dom. I loved it.

rainslacker2404d ago

I actually enjoyed the MP, and I'm not a MP kind of guy.

Wouldn't say it was really deep compared to other MP games, but it was a good pick up and play thing, which one didn't have to invest much time in if they didn't want to. While playing it for the trophies, I never really had a bad group of people to play with, and it was generally fun.

Jrios3552404d ago

My fucking God, the majority of your comments on this website are just unnecessary nitpicking and constant negativity and complaining. Even if you're right, the way you lay it out comes accross as somewhat childish and whiny.

porkChop2404d ago

I enjoyed ME3, even though it was too light on RPG elements. I thought the ending could have been better and I understand why people were upset. But I think people really overreacted in that regard. The reaction was super toxic with people telling the devs to kill themselves and such. It was a really disgusting time for gaming.

Xaywhat2404d ago

I feel like it jumpstarted the age of social media outrage and devs catering to crybabies.

porkChop2404d ago

I'd have to agree. Ever since then we've seen extremely overblown and toxic reactions to a lot of things. It's fine to be upset and voice your frustration, but it's not ok to take things as far as some people have.

rainslacker2404d ago

I understood how people felt the ending sucked, although I was kind of indifferent, but it was absolutely disgusting how some people in the community reacted to it. The ending was a black mark on an otherwise excellent game.

Bro missing companions: Legion, Grunt, Samara/Morinth, Javik, EDI

anast525d ago

Legion, Zaeed, and Jack are my favorites.

RiseNShine525d ago

To think that Bioware at some point was capable of doing games like this, you see those characters and remember them like good old friends, and now check ME Andromeda, Anthem, Veilguard etc and wonder what the hell happened.

anast525d ago

They lost too much talent.

IAMRealHooman525d ago

some in andromeda are decent, I agree with peebee and Vetra being good companions. Except Liam he's trash tier

anast524d ago

Liam lol I can't stand that dude.
