
Ghost Recon: Breakpoint is attempting to buck a recent Ubisoft open world trend by featuring a nuanced story that is actually coherent, with characters you’re invested in and narrative beats that track logically. Too many of their recent efforts have tried to throw everything into the pot in the hope that something sticks. In the case of Wildlands, this approach led to a Ghost Recon game where cutscenes felt more like masked load screens than truly engaging content.
