Possible Red Dead Redemption 2 PC Version Refused Classification in Australia

The rumours of a PC port of Red Dead Redemption 2 refuse to die, with a new listing for the game popping up on Australia's rating board.

Kingdroopy20182432d ago

Console fanboys will call be on this because they know how much better red dead will be on PC. Its going to make this gens version look like a Dreamcast game to a late ps2 title.

Profchaos2432d ago

I don't think so I played the ps4 version to death and after hearing it's potentially hitting PC in excited to see how much more advanced this beautiful game can be

lol @ all the console peasants hate.

Although R* games launch in a pretty better state than most AAA titles nowadays, I'm still comfortable to let early adopters to beta test everything for us (yes looking @ you Epic sheep).

Sorry to be this aggressive, it's aimed only for those who actually accept that critic, because they know why.

AnubisG2432d ago

This much hate in you over video games...wow.

That's unhealthy.

rainslacker2432d ago (Edited 2432d ago )

Game looked good enough on the consoles, that I doubt console fan boys will get that upset about it, because while the PC version can look better, the only difference is going to be the quality of the graphics. It'll still be the generally boring game it was on console.

Of course, maybe the PC elitist could not go around saying how it's so much better to provoke such ire among the console elitists.

traumadisaster2432d ago

Graphics are only one consideration that I value less than 60fps plus. I HATE 30 FPS shit!

rainslacker2431d ago

To each their own. But with RDR2, the way the game play is set up, with it's auto aim pop up mechanics, it's not like it's going to make much difference, because 30 or 60fps isn't going to cause you to have a different game play experience. Things may appear smoother though.

Livingthedream2432d ago

Nah you're tripping, many games are poorly optimized, it's crazy how a $1k vid card can't run shit on 4k 60 fps or you have to dial down settings

MadLad2432d ago

That comes down to everything from tech in early infancy (I'm talking those implemented in games), the developer's optimization of the game itself; GPU manufacturer's staying on top of optimization on their end. There's countless reasons why certain games run certain ways.
Typically, the magical unicorn of a $1k gaming GPU was never meant towards gaming at all.
Anecdotally, my 680 build, from back when Bioshock Infinite was released, can still outperform all but the Xbox One, in terms of performance, when it comes to running games, almost across the board.

Livingthedream2432d ago

You can definitely get better performance on PC, but generally visuals are not leap and bounds over consoles, until late in the gen. I used to game on PC as well, and was always trying to max games at 1080 p at the time,. But from a visual stand point it never made my consoles look like previous gen. The PC is the perfect gaming machine, if you have the $$ to keep updating it regularly, and the patience for drivers to be updated, and for the community to release updated textures and improved settings.

@Kingdroopy2018
Played in on PS4 and is my best game all time. I am a console gamer most of my life, but this is one game I really want on pc. Like GTA5. I got it on ps3 and completed it, got it on ps4 completed it, got in on PC completed it. I would love this game on pc. Imagine mods!!! Graphics mods and 60fps+. Would be great!!!. But this does not in any way make the console version stupid as I enjoyed it the most of any game!! My PC cost me about R25000 just for the box and it is really not that good (gtx 1070, I7 7700k, 16gb ddr4 ram, etc.) and my ps4 cost me R6000. So Pc is fucking overpriced in my country (south Africa) and hence the reason I prefer consoles. Oh and off course exclusives. Steam is great though for pc, hopes this game comes to Steam.

deadfrag2432d ago (Edited 2432d ago )

Well your talk just shows how most PC centric people are really lame but you can bet that i Will play Red Dead Redemption 2 enhanced first on my PS5 or Scarlett than you Will be able to play on PC or I in mine!

The_Sage2431d ago

Oh, Kingdroopy... People like you are always going on about things running better on PC, but guys like me couldn't care less. I've never seen anything on PC that looks as good as God of War, Uncharted 4, or even Driveclub.

Bought it on PS4. Played for 3 hours and realized that I have to play this masterpiece on PC.

m2stech2432d ago (Edited 2432d ago )

Timing is right, just like when GTA5 was released for ps3/360 and released later on next gen console and PC

MadLad2432d ago

Anyone who actually believes that RDR2 isn't coming to PC, well … that's on you.
Just like GTA5, The PC release will be far superior to the original, current gen release; and used as a base for the inevitable re-release on next gen consoles.

You think Rockstar views Red Dead 2 as a failure because it didn't sell 150m copies?

jznrpg193d ago

3 billion or so in revenue not including online stuff I’m sure they don’t

SethNW193d ago

I am pretty sure they don't. It was profitable and made them a lot of money. Not GTA5 money but far from failure. Maybe it is lower priority franchise, due to being smaller, but that is about the lowest they would put it as. Only thing they do consider failure is RDR2 Online, unlike GTA5 Online, that RDR2 Online flopped. Hence why it got less support. And when it come to profits, sales for both combined don't come close to GTA Online microtansactions. Hence why everything very quickly got canceled and GTA Online was top priority, so no GTA6 for a long time, no DLC for GTA5, despite there being 5 DLCs planned, at least I think it was 5, give or take one. But as I see it, they needed to rejuvenate interest and all, hence why GTA6 eventually is getting made. But what they are really looking forward to is refresh of Online.

ZeekQuattro193d ago

Only in terms of the online aspect of the game. They didn't support it as much as they did GTA V Online. I remember people being pissed about that.

jznrpg193d ago

I own a few GTAs but never played them. I love Red Dead though

Yui_Suzumiya187d ago (Edited 187d ago )

Boring and overrated. Red Dead Redemption is pretty good though. The Hundred Line: Last Defense Academy is my personal GOAT. We need more stuff like that from TooKyo.

victorMaje193d ago

I must be one of the few who are fine with the GTA6 delay. People treat that game like it’s the 2nd coming lol.

FIELDMARSHALL_P192d ago

My daughter asked me how I felt about I shrugged and said I don't care gives me time to finish up games I already have. It's all good let them make the best game they can.

RedDevils193d ago

Wish they make another Manhunt or Bully.

gold_drake193d ago

damn, thats a ridiculous number

Dan Houser: RDR2 was "behind schedule" and "over budget so much I didn’t want to think about it"

The world they built is pretty amazing. Unfortunately, the game was mostly boring to me. I definitely had fun in some parts, but it didn't do it for me as a whole like the first one did. I loved RDR so much.

The budgets and time it takes to make games these days is out of control. Such a big risk. If a game isn't a huge hit, it is often it for a studio. Scary. I really miss the PS2 and PS3 days where studeios could make 4 games in a generation and take risks in making something new. And so many were using their own engines. Those were the days.

neutralgamer1992197d ago

Agreed. I love RDR but couldn't get into RDR2. The animations take forever and game slows you down on purpose. It won't let you have fun because R* want us to play the game they want to. I know millions love RDR2 and I even bought and own it. But just wasn't for me.

It's like comparing GTA4 to saints row 2. One game was about fun while the other was about realism and that's coming from someone who beat GTA4 many times. I much rather a game be fun to play than chase realism

YodaCracker197d ago

GTA IV’s realism is what made it so much more fun for me. I loved experimenting with the physics.

Storm23196d ago

I bought RDR2 also. Put 100+ hours into it and beat it our of respect for Rockstar and all the people saying it was the greatest game ever. RDR blew my mind but might also have been the best time in gaming for me personally. l loved that PS3 gen so much.

I am excited to see what GTA6 is like.
