Borderlands 3 appears to be selling really well if the talk about it breaking gearbox records and what not are to be believed. Would like to hope this “journalist” goes back and updates this rather negative article if he is proven wrong, however I doubt he will

How do you know this? Who outside of the Borderlands fans have you asked?

I’m not going to get it . It looks decent enough but I have such a large backlog and the amount of time you need to put into BL3 I could play a few other games instead . I don’t think it will fail it’s a fairly popular franchise

It will sadly do fine but the game launch has been disastrous on PC and PS4 (I don't know about the XB1 version) and the game feels like a lazy cash grab but it has its fans rabid fans and as long as the game has them it'll do fine.

Just started playing it, really fun, but the fps problems should be addressed. Also lag and hit registration seems pretty bad on my end. But a few patches down the road and this will be the best looter shooter out there

Its already sold like hotcakes and the game itself is good aside the technical issues and at least its not horribly broken, has a ton of content, and not filled with crappy microtransactions....yet. Fans have waited too long to skip the game.

I doubt they'll fail but you never know...I say it's a 50/50 chance.

What do you expect the moment Eli Roth was announced the movie was doomed. Than having the worst miscast in movie history with actor's no where near their character age or whiny midget playing a serious 6'2 6'3 character.
Ava is horrible in Bl3 but no where near as bad as the movie.

The Borderlands movie is a poorly made but effective marketing tool for the game series. In the end the failure of the film, won’t hurt Take-Two/Gearbox. However, Lionsgate Films, will be loosing 10s of millions.

Boarderlands has always been on the edge of a cringe avalanche catastrophe. BL3 and doubling down with the Tiny Tina bs pretty much turned the franchise into a hot steaming bucket of diarrhea just waiting to be dumped over the player’s head. The movie, is basically for those that know 3 and tina, and love a hot bucket on their head.

The guy made Hostel...yeah that movie where people scream for an hour plus. People thought this was it decades ago, but it was low bar stuff even then. His only actual decent work was when he pitched in for Tarantino's Grindhouse, which he did a decent job at making a fake trailer. Borderlands bombing at the box office was a forgone conclusion.

The games hands down are better then the shit piled movie.

So the shareholders win anyway?

When I first watched the Borderlands movie trailer & saw Kevin Hart including great actress Cate Blanchett as Lillith I knew right then & there that the movie was going to be a major flop including having Eli Roth as director. They say the movie cost 110 million to make & the movie only made 4 million dollars which is a major flop.

Borderlands could have been such a good movie franchise, shame.
They should have got George Miller (mad max) to direct it, that would have been cool, not too dissimilar from each other

No surprise here. Who else is still hoping for a good adaption of game-to-movie?.....

saw the movie last week on friday in german ... it wasnt bad per se.
but its definitely a huge let down cause the movie is more a remaining than a actual continuing of the lore or story

ima see it again? no. but i dont regret seeing it either. made me laugh in alot of places.

i think pg13 was a huge mistake for tye movie. or one of them.

but i guess this is what Randy meant with "success or failure doesnt matter".
