Remedy Entertainment is notorious for having references to their other projects within their games and Control isn't an exception. However, Remedy went the extra mile. Going as far as to link Alan Wake to Control, showcasing that these games are actually connected.

Control was really good. There was a ton of backtracking and running through the building from one end to the other a ton of times, but otherwise I loved it. Can't wait to see the sequel.
I really enjoyed Control though without the mini map i found myself lost and or unsure of what to do too often and gave in on the game about 30% in.
Ive just re-downloaded it with the latest update with the enhanced graphics but unaure I'll dig back into it agaith with my current backlog.
Looking forward to seeing whats next from Remedy though.
I know exactly what you mean. I've played the game through twice and have had the same issue both times.
What I found on my latest playthrough was that the best way to navigate is to use the physical signs in-game as well as the map.

I would not be surprised if Alan's handy flashlight was an object of power. Or maybe his typewriter.

Awesome Easter egg, not done with Control yet but it's phenomenal possibly my GOTY so far. Hope it gets the attention it deserves.
