Sony managed since the PS1 decades ago to provide developers an open place to developed their games more freely than any other Game Company, not only Insomniac was pushed by Sony to be huge and successful developers and being known of their work, but Playstation pushed also other developers to success like Capcom, SquareEnix,Rockstar Games, Konami, Polyphony, Namco, Santa Monica, Naughty Dog, Sucker Punch, Eidos, Quantum Dream, Media Molecule just to name few, heck! even EA, Ubisoft lol, all these developers are also part of the Playstation Family if you didn't know, Sony help them create new IPs and make famous other IP's, and so we all should be grateful Playstation exists. :)
Seriously I dare you to tell me other game company besides Sony Entertainment that has make so many game companies to be multi million successful game companies, hehe I think we should be thankful of Nintendo too for not teaming up with Sony decades ago, that day the game industry savior was born like it or not.

They should have grabbed Insomniac ever since they made Spyro, or at the very latest Ratchet & clank. Not to mention that they helped IMMENSELY with the launch of PS3 with Resistance..Man we need a Resistance 4 now, like ASAP.

Sony changed gaming forever with the first PlayStation and they've cultivated a good culture around it ever since. They've always delivered good hardware, good service and most importantly good games. Insomniac is lucky to be part of the family and Sony in turn is lucky to have insomniac.
You could say the relationship is symbiotic.
