BY GRANT TAYLOR: I don’t think it’s possible to accurately tally up the thousands upon thousands of hours spent playing video games in my lifetime. I’ve owned fourteen platforms in my time and have quite literally poured my heart and soul into all of them. There have been games I’ve given weeks or months of my life to, and others that I’ve offered a mere glance to, before packing them back into their case, never to be played again.
Retrospectively, I’ve bought or been given games that – unbeknown to me – I’d still be playing time and again, many years later. What might seem the most ordinary of titles could prove to be a hidden gem for me, and I’ll revisit it once every so often. Conversely, a title could be so superb in all aspects possible, that it makes clear sense that I’d want to experience it several times over. Here are five of the games I just can’t help but go back to.

The second part of GTA BOOM's interview with Obbe Vermeij where they turn from origin stories to craft. Specifically, how early GTA games created the illusion of life, and why that illusion still matters more than brute-force simulation.

In an exclusive interview with GTA BOOM, former Rockstar North technical director Obbe Vermeij reveals how Rockstar North really operated and debunks one of GTA’s biggest myths.
Revolution Team, the modding team behind GTA Vice City NextGen Edition, has announced GTA: San Andreas NextGen Edition.
I'm surprised modders haven't taken GTA 3, Vice City and San Andreas and connected them as one big game. I remember GTA 3, you had to complete so much of the game to open up the other part of the city, which was connected by a bridge, although there was a flying car cheat.
I don't think it's possible to Talley the number of hours I spent playing San Andreas from its launch on PS2 (which still is my favourite version flaws and all I replayed it countless times), pc, Xbox, Xbox 360, Xbox one PS3, ps4 and mobile I think I own every release of it and I've finished it on each console to the point where I can practically speedrun it.
ah sh*t here we go again
Still the FAV!
