Microsoft is one of those companies that people seem to both love to hate and hate to love. For every Halo, there's a disaster or two right behind it.

Microsoft announced its financial results for Q3 of fiscal year 2026, including an update on its gaming Xbox business and more.
Not looking good. Hopefully Asha Sharma is able to turn Phil’s disaster around.
To me it's still quite remarkable how they can cash-in 5.3bn in revenue in a single quarter, since their hardware is basically dead.

TG writes: If you’ve ever wanted that chaotic, large-scale modern warfare feeling from Battlefield but in full VR immersion, Forefront delivers it better than anything else currently available on Quest.
So many mistakes. When taking their time and putting in more effort would have gone a long way. Maybe the OG Xbox wouldn't have been the last and only Xbox I bought that's in my closet. But this one here:
*If people can just get a game on the PC they already have, why bother with an Xbox One?*
I'll add to it by saying, "being able to play anywhere on any device sounds great." But what about Xbox? What about Xbox? If you don't have to buy the box, what's the point in making it?
Some will say "it's only an option to have dedicated hardware with exclusives." "We shouldn't have walled gardens."
And that's the problem. You drank the Kool Aid.
Bungie went and made average destiny games. Bungie’s choice to go.
Xbox One Launch was not good.
Mass Effect is not owned by MS so what do you mean letting go? They publisher choice to go on other platforms.
Xbox Live Arcade should come back.
RROD bringing up old news? Microsoft already paid the price and cost them billion. Free repairs and extended warranties.
Crackdown IP could have been good ultimately developers make the game the games are bad because of bad developers.
Cortana so trying something new and to compete MS should apologies for?
Scalebound was a shame.
Rare is a shame.
Windows Phone at least they tried in the smartphone market.
Halo can be reinvigorated with Infinite.
Hard drives should be standard and easy to replace agree.
Kinect made them alot of money but died down. Kinect uses ended up in medicine, security and military.
Whats wrong with games appearing on PC? Play anywhere benefits gamers and not deluded fan boy gamers.
Basically article reeks of entitlement but few good points.
Some of the items on this list they only have to apologize to their shareholders for. Some did directly inconvenience gamers while others (including this list's number 1) really just encouraged people to get a PS4 instead.
Bungie were gonna walk regardless.
BioWare owns Mass Effect (MS simply had publishing rights to #1, same as w/ Remedy & Allan Wake ip)
#6 tho, I’d agree with. But that also links to the X1’s bombed launch and ultimately having MS change Xbox’s management.
Good list, for me it would be RRoD and abandoning Xbox Live Arcade which imo was absolutely terrific. Also discontinuing XNA and it's huge community.
