Well, it finally gets a release date at "the end of summer" instead of summer. Hope the VR conversion is good and things added to get me back into playing it. Been a long time sitting on my hard drive taking up space. Only peeked at it here and there after updates. Definitely was better than the launch but just couldn't get back in.

Seeing everything up close and the immersion in VR will definitely get me to check it out. And it's free. Can't beat free. Wonder if Beyond is another galaxy?

"End of summer" is still summer. You can't say that the beginning of fall because it is still not fall. LMAO

I just want more details as to what we're actually getting, at first I was thinking maybe this is some sort of social hub that's maybe now at the center of the universe? but there are only 4 landing pads for ships, so maybe you and 3 other friends come here, then go through the portal to do some sort of raid? honestly I don't know, I think they should have just released the details with this trailer.

I've also had trouble getting back into the game, but only because each update has basically wiped out my progress. My farms become worthless, all of the recipes change, my home planet's ecology has had a complete shift, and there was that one update where I literally had to play through the tutorials again because the fundamentals of the game changed so much that my character literally knew nothing about how to build and craft.

That being said, I'm most excited about the VR for this update, and if it's good, I'll be putting in the work of rebuilding my farm. The game is fun, but without a fundamental gameplay improvement (like VR), I don't like being forced to restart.

Hello games are becoming the anti EA.

Summons752506d ago

Nah, they are pretty good at lying about their product to get it to sell just like EA.

sizeofyou2505d ago

But...IF you felt hard done by (and I didn't), they are STILL supporting the game unlike 92.83% of devs who would've walked away by now.

NMS fans...enjoy.

Summons752505d ago

@sizeofyou

And still half the stuff promised is still MIA. Enjoy the con.

FadedWolf132505d ago

No con for me I bought it for 20 bucks well worth the money you definitely sound butthurt though which is always funny to me EA is way worse of a developer there's no fun in those games at least NMS is fun

sizeofyou2505d ago

And twice the stuff they didn't promise is in there too. Enjoy whatever you're playing...

Hypetrain...!!! So much has happened to No Man's Sky since its NEXT update, and now BEYOND is even larger than Next. No Man's Sky is so amazing.

I think this game will be perfect for VR. They had a rocky start, personally I think they didn't intend to lie but it was a case of aiming too high and talking about it. Whatever their intention, I feel they've earned back the goodwill over the last couple of years with the free release date that they just released without any hype building before hand. This is the first update that's really getting some hype behind it, and I think that's not their doing but because people like what No Man's Sky has become.

Dabigsiebowski2506d ago

Cool they did things with this game. Too bad they had to scam people to get there.

No Man’s Sky: Assemble Your Creatures for Battle in the Xeno Arena with the Newest Free Update

Sean writes: "Last month’s Remnant update caused much hilarity as you tooled with your newfangled gravity guns and customisable exocraft, transporting precarious industrial cargo across uneven terrain in a classic risk vs. reward fight. Our latest update is a whole different beast."
