"The hype on Resident Evil 5 keeps increasing since there is still more information that everyone, save for the developers, do not know. However, in a recent interview Masachika Kawata, Resident Evil 5's producer, informed fans that the game would not be coming to the Wii, at least not for a long while. The stated reason for this was that the Wii can't handle the game's title screen, let alone the game itself. This seems a little harsh, considering the Wii is not as underpowered as many would think."

Circana data shows Resident Evil 5 as the best selling Resident Evil game in the US, ahead of Resident Evil 4 remake and Village.
So the most successful RE is the one where a white man is killing Africans.
This can't be real.

New leaks from Dusk Golem detail cancelled Resident Evil projects, including a Rebecca focused Revelations game, while stating no Resident Evil 5 remake is in development.
Capcom's willingness to invest in experiments and scrap them sets them apart form many other developers (Nintendo have a similar methodology). Far too often companies push a game setting or game mechanic that is just not that good and the final product is middling or poor.

Dusk Golem claims a Resident Evil 5 remake is not coming this year, with a Code Veronica remake expected instead.
Hopefully if and when they do a RE5 remake, they give it the RE3 remake treatment, because this is certainly one title that I don't want a faithful remake of.
Why is this is PS3 news?
"Claiming that their Quantum3 graphics engine (shown above) will allow Wii games to come close to, if not look just like, Xbox 360 and PS3 graphics,"
This is the reason why Wii is bashed. Because developers try to give Wii owners hope for a good looking game, and then writers throw it out of context and say that the developer stated it would look exactly like a 360 or PS3 title.
There is a huge different between a game that can come close to 360 visuals, and a game that is on par with 360 visuals. Hige Voltage said they are hoping The Conduit will come close to 360 visuals.
I know this comment isn't very related to the article, but I had to throw this in before narrow minded moronic fanboy's arise just to say the obvious, "Wii can't do PS3 grafix!"
exactly right Durffen
"The stated reason for this was that the Wii can't handle the game's title screen, let alone the game itself."
IT wasn't even tested or whatever, the guy just said something what he thought was true. This claim pretty much puts a much worse tone on the Wii...the fact that he likes the hardware but at the same time sh/ts on it by making such a bold claim.
But then again, if the engine is to heavy even in the title screen then it could be true....but that would be the engine and not title screen.
And it's obvious most Ps3/360 games won't work on a Wii due the lack of power...but saying Re5 can't come to the Wii at all is just stupid.
Let's not forget RE5 = the new RE:4.
They could still make it worthwhile and not just simply dump down the graphics without doing something with the engine used for RE4.
Updating your engine can't do any harm.
Also I agree with Durffen
isn't this old news, besides who cares...
the wii has a buttload of hard-core, good looking games coming out, and capcom having sold a sh!t-load on this console wold be stupid not to release it, makes no sense cause the could just port it, besides what's so special about the title-screen... they're just hyping it up.
