"Wolfenstein: Youngblood is a video game with microtransactions, which is another way of saying that there are some who will object to its existence out of principle. Some people became so angry about microtransactions in the new game that they harassed one of its lead level designers, Mitja Roskaric, on Twitter, causing him to have to lock his account." Kotaku says.

This February, Prime members can claim a fresh lineup of free games, including BioShock Infinite Complete Edition, Surf World Series, AK-xolotl: Together, Sands of Aura, The Talos Principle: Gold Edition, Stunt Kite Party, The Smurfs 2 — The Prisoner of the Green Stone, Hardspace: Shipbreaker, Lysfanga: The Time Shift Warrior, Dark Sky, Wolfenstein: Youngblood, El Hijo — A Wild West Tale, Colt Canyon, Republic of Jungle, Royal Romances: Cursed Hearts Collector’s Edition, Deus Ex: Human Revolution — Director’s Cut, Night Reverie, Sine Mora EX, Redemption Reapers and Yes, Your Grace.

Fanatical has launched its Special Editions bundle, and it can help you save more than the Steam Autumn Sale on a massive list of games.
It usually does. Steam sales are often great, but Fanatical sales get insane at times.

BLG writes, "There can be only one best Wolfenstein game. Since the franchise’s debut in 1981, the Wolfenstein series has graced our gaming platforms for over forty years. It’s hard to believe, but it’s true! In honor of that legacy, we’re going to list some of the best Wolfenstein games and the worst. That’s right: it’s the Wolfenstein games ranked."
Scheiße! Nein.
Return to Castle Wolfenstein is the best in the series. After that:
New Order
New Colossus
Old Blood
I really wish they'd remake Return to Castle Wolfenstein from the ground up. Easily the best of them all.
Kotaku are far too apologist about microtransactions and it's a very poor look for them.
The more leniency you give publishers, the more they try to push their luck. That's how loot boxes came about: nobody batted an eye about FUT and then they were everywhere.
Of course it's f***** Kotaku
It was either going to be them or Polygon
Of course Kotaku went straight to the worst examples of reactions and painted everything else with a wide brush.
Those people harassing are NOT the same as those who are legitimately concerned/disappointed/irritat ed by these MTs, and you can't sweep all of that out the window because a few a**holes went loco on Twitter.
Of course Kotaku defending this.
Game costs money, so it's already monetized, there's no reason to have any additional monetization. Want microtransaction? Go free-to-play, like Warframe or Fartnite. Why there's a need for extra "premium" currency? There's no need for that, aside from greed.
Please, stop making excuses for publishers and developers or else with each new game/iteration, they will give you less and less and ask for more and much more.
Look for yourself, previously, you spend $60 and you get everything, every skin or extra weapon you can EARN in-game. Now, $60 is just an entrance fee, you have to either:
a. Spend 10+ hours for a single item;
b. Pay REAL money to unlock that item.
Not to mention the "random" chances to obtain items. And microtransaction are not micro anymore, i don't consider $5+ for a single skin to be "micro".
P. S.: And this game is very average, both gameplay- and story-wise. It actually reminds me of Far Cry New Dawn way too much and it's not a good sign, imo.
