Damn. The Witcher 3 on Ultra settings holds up well to this day. This overhaul is a drastic difference all the same.

This is while I'll always be PC as my main platform.

SyntheticForm2507d ago

Agreed.

The last time I saw this person's work I was less impressed, but this is quite the improvement - very impressive.

starchild2507d ago

Yeah, this mod really makes a big difference to the quality of the textures. The Witcher 3 with mods is still my favorite open world graphics. I can't wait for Cyberpunk 2077.

King_Noctis2507d ago

I’m wondering if any of these mods can be hacked and put into the Switch version like the Skyrim version.

Hungryalpaca2507d ago

Not a chance. The requirements are sky high. Minimum is 8gb of ram.

Ricegum2507d ago

Lol. The Switch can barely handle the base game.

InKnight7s2507d ago

Base game with ultra low settings*

King_Noctis2507d ago

*any of these mods

I did not specifically say only this mod.

NiteX2507d ago

Wow I definitely don't remember so many textures on that game looking so awful lol. Almost PS2 quality of awful. I said almost!

Lightbullz2507d ago

best thing is that this mod barely makes a dent in the performance (unless you are using a very old gpu). kudos to modder

A switch 2 update might be a nice way to celebrate it for people who brought the switch 1 version

4Scarrs_Gaming374d ago

This is exactly what I was thinking too.

gigoran8373d ago (Edited 373d ago )

It will be for a price. unfortunately not like the PS5 where a majority of them were free.

anast374d ago

Cool, can we get a controller sensitivity option for the PS5? Geralt going full sprint when I barely touch the controller is keeping me from playing this game a 3rd time.

I would have included the Uncharted games as well. Good list though.

Yui_Suzumiya400d ago

Island would be #1 but that would be anything from Frontwing.

QueenOfFrowns400d ago

Haha it is not lost on me that two of the games in the top four were already novels before they were games

The Witcher 3 PC Optimized Settings: Next Gen Update & Ray Tracing Performance

Even 9 years after its release, The Witcher 3 remains one of the finest RPGs ever. Its detailed world and ingenious quest design have yet to be surpassed by another in the genre. The next-gen update released in late 2022 was a significant visual overhaul, adding ray-traced lighting, upscaling, and frame generation to an already pretty world.

Actually just picked this up yesterday on Steam, since it's $9.99 for the game and all the DLC. I've owned it for years on Playstation, but honestly never put a whole lot of time into it. Though I knew I had to play through it one day because I loved what I did play. It runs so buttery smooth on PC. Still a really beautiful game with everything maxed out settings-wise at 4K.

Damn man that’s a long ass wait for a game you were feeling good about. I beat it the first time over 9 years ago
