From GameWatcher: "The most prevalent issue with mystery games (especially in the triple A market) is the urge to inject unneeded action. L.A. Noire is the most notable example, but plenty of games aren’t confident that their mystery can stand on its own without action set pieces. This is why Night Call peaked my curiosity. Making a noire game about conv ersation instead of combat is definitely a risk. But no matter how you feel about that, these types of games deserve our attention. No matter their quality, they made an effort to try something new in the lootbox era. With that said, let’s dive into its noire-tinted world."

Microsoft has announced that several games are leaving Xbox Game Pass for console, cloud, and PC. Among them are Ace Combat 7, Night Call, and more.

The Humble Raw Fury 2020 Bundle just launched today. It features games like Night Call, Mosaic, Kingdom Two Crowns, Bad North: Jotunn Edition, Whispers of a Machine, and more.

"Night Call ultimately feels like it’s missing something crucial to tie it all together. I think the game would’ve been better if it really was just about driving around Paris getting to know these people who are living out their everyday lives. The mystery-solving is half baked, and the fact that you can’t carry the stories of your passengers forward into future cases just makes me wish the mystery wasn’t there at all. I really did love the conversations I had with the game’s diverse cast, but in the end I was just left frustrated that I wouldn’t be able to see them through to their end without slogging through a lot of stuff I’d already seen."
