Nothing more then an anti piracy update. Sony did the same to the Vita for years.

But this of course means that the Wii U is not a dead console. Looking forward to Just Dance 2019 amirite bois!/s

Profchaos2518d ago

If you told me the PS3 was still getting FIFA I'd believe it the PS2 was dead and getting FIFA until 2014 despite being superseded by the PS3 /360 in 2005/6

AnthonyDavis2518d ago

They should have an update to brick the console. Just focus on Switch.

Profchaos2518d ago

Pretty standard anti piracy patch. Ultimately there's a lot of wii u ports on the switch so this is to protect against people paying $50 for a Wii U and downloading games that are on both switch and wii u instead of just buying a switch

CurbStompin2518d ago

It literally blocked nothing. My $50 hacked WII U is still playing all my free games online just fine on 5.5.4.

Profchaos2518d ago

Lol ok failed anti piracy patch in that case

SockeyBoy2518d ago

Me too...well kind of, plays my WiiU games, but my eShop games are a no. Installed my cfw again and I'm good

The wiiU was one of the worst consoles ever made. I remember I bought nsmbu then week after I bought a wiimote so we could play 2 player.....nope didn't work your them forced into buying another wiimote just to play 2 player I found that outrageous why in 1 player tablet works as controller but for 2 players u need 2 wiimotes. That was the final Nintendo nail for me won't ever support them again

Knushwood Butt2518d ago (Edited 2518d ago )

Gotta buy them all!

quent2518d ago

You're spewing a load of horsehit and you know it, low sales doesn't make any product automatically bad you mentally daft fanboy

TheHateTheyGive2517d ago

Switch to me is the wii u pro. Nintendo's just shady and reselling the same old wii u ports as new.

Not looking good. Hopefully Asha Sharma is able to turn Phil’s disaster around.

To me it's still quite remarkable how they can cash-in 5.3bn in revenue in a single quarter, since their hardware is basically dead.

Jingsing23d ago

The stock mark is what makes Microsoft remarkable, They have convinced every institutional and retail investor to just keep piling money into them. Like many big tech giants they are just a big growing pyramid scheme. As long as people keep dropping money into ETF's that cover the market Microsoft will always be liquid. At the same time it is completely stifling innovation and competition. People need to start being more discreet in how they invest their money as it's killing the system.

Tanktopmaster9223d ago

Once they re-evaluate exclusive all will be fine….

S2Killinit23d ago

Riiiiight because people will just flock back to them for one or two games per year.

Jingsing23d ago

15+ years of bad performance is what they call irreparable in business. It is time for them to sell off the assets and get out of entertainment.

Tanktopmaster9223d ago

These declines are on the back of extra revenue received from releasing games like Forza horizon 5 on PlayStation. So I’m being sarcastic here when I said they should go back to exclusives. Killing off a revenue stream from Ps5 sales will only make things worse
