Five RPGs That Really Deserve a Remake/Remaster

"I can’t really narrow down which one of the Ultima games really needs to be brought back. However, I don’t think the series got better with age, despite my personal favourite being Ultima 9, as it’s one of the first PC RPGs I ever played… so I didn’t know how bloody flawed it was." - eTeknix

Xenogears definitely deserves a remake

raWfodog2517d ago (Edited 2517d ago )

My son and I were just talking about this last night and we both would like to see Xenogears and the Legend of Dragoon remade.

FalconofLucis982517d ago (Edited 2517d ago )

Im glad we got FF7 instead of Xenogears as the 7th entry of the FF series. Xenogears was too edgy to be an FF game. Sakaguchi made the right choice.

Better off it's own I.P. the concept behind doesn't really fit Final Fantasy. Anyways Xenogears deserves a second chance. Of course MonolithSoft should be the team to handle the remake if it ever came to be.

TW1 needs a full out remake, act 2 is literally 2+ hours of investigative fetch quests. Tw2 is was a huge upgrade.

Fist4achin2517d ago

I'd buy any one of those remastered editions.

eTeknix2517d ago

Ditto, always curious to hear what people think is missing though. Thoughts?

BlaqMagiq12517d ago

Demon's Souls, Threads of Fate, .hack original 4, Mass Effect Trilogy, Valkyria Chronicles 2+3.

eTeknix2517d ago

You know, I thought Mass Effect too, but on PC the game still looks fantastic even today.

jreeves822517d ago

I would like to see a mass effect trilogy re master and a legend of dragoon remastered or remade or sequel

Not looking good. Hopefully Asha Sharma is able to turn Phil’s disaster around.

To me it's still quite remarkable how they can cash-in 5.3bn in revenue in a single quarter, since their hardware is basically dead.

Jingsing16d ago

The stock mark is what makes Microsoft remarkable, They have convinced every institutional and retail investor to just keep piling money into them. Like many big tech giants they are just a big growing pyramid scheme. As long as people keep dropping money into ETF's that cover the market Microsoft will always be liquid. At the same time it is completely stifling innovation and competition. People need to start being more discreet in how they invest their money as it's killing the system.

Tanktopmaster9216d ago

Once they re-evaluate exclusive all will be fine….

S2Killinit16d ago

Riiiiight because people will just flock back to them for one or two games per year.

Jingsing16d ago

15+ years of bad performance is what they call irreparable in business. It is time for them to sell off the assets and get out of entertainment.

Tanktopmaster9216d ago

These declines are on the back of extra revenue received from releasing games like Forza horizon 5 on PlayStation. So I’m being sarcastic here when I said they should go back to exclusives. Killing off a revenue stream from Ps5 sales will only make things worse
