I mean, that was a given. They revealed new summon Materia for pre-orders. I just want to know that they've kept all of the Materia from the original. I also want to know if we can still master Materia, and if it creates new ones like before.

"there will be new materia added in line with that. On the other hand, some materia will also disappear."

The new battle system wouldn't jive well with some of the old Materia.

most changes will probably concern yellow materia since this was the ability materia.

Maybe Nomura will rename the materia into something like, “ancient Magicite of the celestial azures.” So cool and super fantasy!

going by the naming convention everything is organized by purpose. if any materia are added they will likely be under these categories. --> Magic Materia, Command Materia, Summon Materia, Support Materia. be it a new spell or a new summon.
