Bad enough having to battle against the scripting in FIFA and PES but their insistence it's not in the game shows a lack of respect. I've been playing PES since ISS Deluxe on the SNES and I can read their games like a book.

rainslacker2402d ago

Maybe it's just bad scripting and AI in the game itself? I know it's hard to believe, but it's EA Sports. They aren't exactly known for advanced AI or amazing scripting. They're good at animations and graphics, and gimmicky ways to try and make it a good marketing point that you're actually playing like real players, but beyond that, not so much.

In any case, basic difficulty adjustments aren't uncommon in a lot of games, and they are annoying many times....especially with things like rubber banding in racing games....but why does it have to be this new thing, and not just something else that doesn't have a fancy term attached to it?

Focus on the result of a poor implementation meant to drive an outcome, as opposed to the tech they used to implement it.

I truly hope so.. day one buy

Ninver600d ago

Time for a change. Football games haven't evolved much.

It’s tough when there is no competition

Abear21600d ago

There’s PES and now we’ll have FC25 and FIFA so yes, but it is no longer true, shit is about to get real!

Now if we only had two viable options for Basketball and American football we’d be on to something.

MrNinosan600d ago

@Abear21
PES didn't exist since 2020, and the rebranded eFootball is crap.

porkChop600d ago

If what we've heard is true, the reason FIFA games don't change is literally because of FIFA itself rejecting nearly every pitch for new features and mechanics.

The barber shop and roulette wheel are going to be awesome.

Pay to win is the new free to play

CrimsonWing69600d ago (Edited 600d ago )

It’ll be monetized to all hell, regardless

StormSnooper600d ago (Edited 600d ago )

Hmmm, let’s see how they do. If they riddle it with microtransactions, hell no. Otherwise, I’m excited.

If there’s an organization that is more corrupt than EA, it’s for sure FIFA.

I also agree that EA has done more for FIFA on brand awareness too. I know of people that thought FIFA was an EA brand similar to Madden instead of their own independent organization.

Profchaos829d ago

Probably a good call on Sony's part given the relationship they needed to build with ea over time and given the era if EA didn't want something they found ways around it such as building their own unlicensed games and bypassing console copyright protection on 16 bit systems to avoid paying licensing

XiNatsuDragnel829d ago

Fifa with playstation I would've preferred that over EA now tbh.

Seraphim829d ago

guess you don't remember how bad those Sony sports titles were in the 90s. The only exception would be NBA Shootout '97 which was phenomenal.

shinoff2183828d ago

Idk what that means. Nfl GameDay was fun as fk.

FinalFantasyFanatic828d ago

I never liked sports games personally, except for ESPN Extreme Games, that was fun for me back in the day.

gold_drake828d ago

the Fifa people are some of the scummiest people there is, even outside of the gaming industry.

good on that sony ceo for actually talking to EA first and letting them know what happened.

anast828d ago

The career mode would have been way better.
