thesoftware7302551d ago

i Think you are here for laughs..

mikeslemonade2551d ago

I’m pretty sure core gamers play on higher than 720p resolution.

njitram20002550d ago

@Smitty2020 I think you meant to say "They have good games on yonder library so thine talk is crap"

Remember Miyamoto's definition of hardcore? Basically playing crap games (Wii Music) for long periods of time.

Yeah, Wii Music. Not exactly a fondly remembered classic.

CrimsonPheonix2551d ago (Edited 2551d ago )

Oh but you play call of duty and assass creed every year you're so hardcore bro!

True "Hardcore gamers" enjoy all kinds of games. You can have a Ps4 and a Switch.

Um over 34 million sold about to take down Xbox One sales and that's with all 4 of their consoles they released this generation the Xbox One that launched in 2013 had an install base of 28 million the sales of the other 3 aren't great. The last time I looked the Xbox One was at over 42 million console sales that isn't with just the Xbox One sales from the Xbox One that came out in 2013 thats all Xbox One consoles same as PS4/PRO. Nintendo went from selling over 14 million Wii U's to selling more consoles than Xbox One has done in close to 6 years in just close to 3 that's impressive hardcore gamers are indeed back and they love the Switch.

Not me, if they can increase the power or the switch then maybe.

UltraNova2551d ago

I'll get a Switch if the rumored upgraded one is exceeding a base ps4's performance or is on par at the very least.

IMissJimRyan2551d ago

Nintendo consoles are for Nintendo games and fans. Period.
Switch came to replace Wii U and 3DS, and it still have a lot of work to do so.
When it sells to all those previews owners, than we can discuss if it expanding its market.

Define “hardcore.” Are those that only seek the highest graphic fidelity in games? Then no, those have long moved on to the PC and “pro” version consoles. If you define “hardcore” as those gamers that play everything from tower defense games to mature narrative driven games and buy games in the masses, well then the answer is yes as evident by their sales.

fiveby92551d ago

My Switch is a solid second console for me. Would I choose it over my Pro or PC. No. But, relative to the Wii and Wii U days, I'd say winning back hardcore gamers it is. But it is not winning back 'hardcore' gamers at the expense of other consoles. I think the Switch is great considering it is a hybrid console / portable.

fonger082550d ago

Exactly, I know there’s the stigma that the hardcore gamer typically only caters to the highest spec system to only the most graphic in-depth gaming. But I would argue that more and more “hardcore” gamers are about playing the most games across all consoles. The Switch is mostly likely not going to be a primary system (at least from a market share position).

Double_O_Revan2551d ago

I definitely define Hardcore Gamer as someone who plays as much as they can from every system they can. It's about the games for them.

People who solely care about graphics are not hardcore gamers. That's not what gaming is about. They're just stuck up or spoiled gamers.

DaDrunkenJester2551d ago

Yeah man I love playing Sekir...
And Monster Hunter Worl...
And also Metro Exodu...
Read Dea...?
AC Odysse...?

Until Switch starts getting actually 3rd party support and not just 4+ year old ports then MAYBE they'll get hardcore gamers back. A hardcore gamer to me likes to play a wide variety of games, and while Switch has a variety... it is missing the top tier 3rd party games.

thesoftware7302551d ago (Edited 2551d ago )

Yeah man, I hear you, I'm gonna have fun on my PS4 and Xbox...
Cant wait to play Astral...
and Octopath...
and aslo Golf sto...
NMH: Travis..?
Tetris 9..?
cant wait for Marvel ultim...
dying for Daemon X.....
i will have fun with Tow....
Bayon..2?

DaDrunkenJester2551d ago (Edited 2551d ago )

@thesoftware

I said they have variety, but most of those are indie games. Who is really putting Tetris, Golf Story, and the new NMH (which was terrible btw) against these other top games?

Marvel Ultimate Alliance is a nice get and so is Bayo 3, but what the heck is Tow?

Great Response.

People really need to get their head outta their asses and realize Nintendo dont really give a damn who buys the system..as long as the sales remain phenomenal like they have been...money is money to any company.

rainslacker2550d ago

Id' put myself in the latter category, and it's what I'd call a hardcore gamer....at least in the context being used here.

Nintendo doesn't have the power in the Switch, but they still have a lot of good games. I brought the system for that. I appreciate high fidelity and cutting edge games that push technical boundaries, but I mostly just like to play games.

Nintendo will always make complementary systems in my opinion ever since Sony entered the market. I could never see myself primarily gaming on a Nintendo system for various reasons

Einhander19712551d ago

Hell yes !! I never left, hardcore is 2D gaming anyway not the easy story driven nonsense, most of the games today aren’t hardcore 😂😂

indysurfn2551d ago (Edited 2551d ago )

By saying 2D you prove you have not had a Nintendo system for 20 years. Most people own multi-platform and know this, I own all three including the PRO and a gaming laptop. Nintendo moved to 3D 20 years ago.

Not looking good. Hopefully Asha Sharma is able to turn Phil’s disaster around.

dveio39d ago

To me it's still quite remarkable how they can cash-in 5.3bn in revenue in a single quarter, since their hardware is basically dead.

Jingsing39d ago

The stock mark is what makes Microsoft remarkable, They have convinced every institutional and retail investor to just keep piling money into them. Like many big tech giants they are just a big growing pyramid scheme. As long as people keep dropping money into ETF's that cover the market Microsoft will always be liquid. At the same time it is completely stifling innovation and competition. People need to start being more discreet in how they invest their money as it's killing the system.

Tanktopmaster9239d ago

Once they re-evaluate exclusive all will be fine….

S2Killinit39d ago

Riiiiight because people will just flock back to them for one or two games per year.

Jingsing39d ago

15+ years of bad performance is what they call irreparable in business. It is time for them to sell off the assets and get out of entertainment.

Tanktopmaster9239d ago

These declines are on the back of extra revenue received from releasing games like Forza horizon 5 on PlayStation. So I’m being sarcastic here when I said they should go back to exclusives. Killing off a revenue stream from Ps5 sales will only make things worse
