..... and it’s finished. I honestly keep watching their conferences/content because I keep thinking and hoping that eventually they may convince me to buy another Xbox console. I haven’t bought one since 360.... I just don’t get it! I don’t get why they can’t do it! Sony and Nintendo do it every time effortlessly!
I will (still) not buy an Xbox one and I will likely not buy Scarlett based on what they showed. The only interesting things they showed were multi platform ( but man cyberpunk looked INSANE, SO GOOD)
When you play lil John alongside gears, that shows just what the frame of mind is of the devs and MS. I will never get the last 2 hours back🤨

Most trailers were CG.
No hint of titles being exclusive or not.
And celeb/car port segments that really add nothing.

Think the only "turn around" was that that stopped using exclusive. exchanged it for "world premier".

It's not their best press conference. I see them closing out with Halo and XBOX 2. So far Ori was their best first party exclusive imo. I can't wait for that game. Cyberpunk and OuterWords looks awesome as well.

At least they aren't talking too much. Not a terrible show so far, but just because they're showing a lot of games. I suspect the big reveals will be saved for closer to the end.

Ya, not a single new big AAA IP. Ninja Theorie's game ain't it. And that was that. Cyberpunk looked cool somewhat. But very violent.

Agreed! 71 mins in & Cyberpunk is the only interesting looking game so far with Ori coming in second everything else looks boring.

I'd say just CYBERPUNK 2077, it has been absolutely DIRE. Talk about tripping at the last hurdle, terrible show.

It'll be multiplat seeing as it mentioned crossplay, and didn't put console exclusive. Same with most of the games shown.

It's multiplat. If it doesn't say specifically that it's only on Xbox(and now PC) without any modifier, then it's not exclusive. If it's launching first, it's timed exclusive. Can't remember what they said for that game, but Sega isn't likely to avoid the PS for that game.

@dillydilly George RR Martin doesn't write the show only the books. The books don't go out as far as the shows ending which is made up by the show's writers. Basically george takes forever to write his books but they are quality. He hasn't written an ending yet to the books.

Yeah, PC hardware manufactures have been stating it for years.

The 360 didn't, why would you expect the xbone to?

It's reasonable to assume they'd have similar tech. These people don't live in a bubble, and can make reasonable assumptions about what the other is doing. They made it seem like they developed the SSD drives they were putting in the system though, so unless they actually did create some custom tech, which would be silly given what's available or is becoming available, I feel that's misleading.

But, they did say they will be using the SSD for virtual memory, which is what I thought might be made available on PS5 in other discussions. Probably a part of memory set aside not available to load data to, not unlike it's been in windows since Win3.0. That's good news for performance as SSD is fast enough to serve up assets for things that aren't needed immediately

I'm going to defend Microsoft here. They said that because they probably don't have all the information on Sony's new system. So they could end up having the most powerful system or the weakest one. They don't want to make any claims on power just in case they are wrong.

I remember when they announced Scorpio they didn't hesitate to make the claim that it was the most powerful current gen system. But then again they released it a year later and at a higher price point so it was easy for them to make that claim.

I guess we will have to wait and see.

The tit-for-tat PS5 vs. Scarlett talk is going to continue for some time. Nobody will show their cards until they have to.

I don't think they would get the same MSM attention from an interview after Cerny's though. So there's that.

Wasn't trying to say they did the wrong thing. Just the terminology was funny considering how Spencer adamantly stated how they'd always have the most powerful console for the past two years. This means that they don't actually intend that, and go into it like everyone else, with a price, a spec, and do what they can within those confines. Just another lie from Spencer in practice, even if it ends up being the most powerful console.

When Xbox fan boys see me say that Spencer likes to pander, this is a perfect example. He doesn't know. He can't reasonably promise such a thing, and he can't hold true to that promise because he doesn't know completely what the competition is doing or if he can match/exceed the competition in the future and maintain a viable product on the consumer level. If Sony's announces one more powerful, and he gets the team to change it later to fulfill the promise, then he will keep his promise, but the example here is him just blowing smoke.

Otherwise, it wasn't a bad show. It had some interesting games. No huge stand outs that were exclusive. 12 minutes being one of my big takeaways, and the Lego expansion for Forza might be neat. Flight Simulator I'm kind of excited for, and I'll likely play it on PC, mostly because I have a HOTOS I can use with PC, and it'll give me a good reason to upgrade my GPU finally. FS has long been absent in the MS lineup.

Hugely dissappointing for me too. Didn't expect anything from the new studios and got really excited when they did, but was quickly disappointed when they showed:

4 vs. 4 Melee game with Steampunk mutants.

Honestly (not to get overly pc), but I'm kinda glad that there hasn't been a Perfect Dark announcement. I don't think Ms. Joan would fit in well with today's overly sensitive political climate.
Besides, it's fairly apparent that MS wants the focus to be on Kait Diaz (Gears) as their new leading lady.

Kinda sad how the PD franchise has been abandonded. There was a point when the 360 first launched, that Joanna Dark was the mascot (up until Gears came along) for the console.

For indie stuff, I liked SpiritFarer, and that other game that looked like it had that game design feel to it. with all the pencil drawings and stuff....Legends of Wright I believe. 12 minutes was the most interesting to me. There looked to be some other indie games in there in the sizzle trailer, but they were only on screen for 5 seconds or so each, so it was hard to see what they were, or catch the names, so I'll have to go look them up later.

Rest wasn't really all that interesting to me, but PSO2 coming west is good.

New Tales game I'm still on the fence about. Art style is OK, and it appears to have some of that Tales flair, but the game play looked....off. Only two people in a party, or one, isn't what the series thrives on. But it's still early, so I'll wait to see more.

Overall, i'd say it's a good conference if you want to see a bunch of games, because they did have a lot. I don't know if it was a good Xbox conference, because most of the games were multi-plat, or timed exclusive, and the big first party games didn't even show game play.

They're trying again to capture an audience with a big PC game with CrossfireX, but it's timed exclusive, and like PUBG, a lot of gamers probably never heard of it, and when game play showings starts rolling out, it's hard to know how the console gamers will react to it. If they're expecting what was shown in the trailer to some degree, they won't be impressed.

I would say Microsoft Flight Simulator on Xbox One was the biggest thing for me. I can't even begin to understand how they're going to make that work. Remember, the Xbox One is first and foremost the system originally launched in 2013, which is less poweful than the base PS4, not just the Xbox One X. It will have to run on the base Xbox One!

Yeah just like when the ps4 and xbox one launched at the same time.. SONY better wait a year lol

In all honesty you can't say Halo looks current gen because they didn't show anything. The conference was horrendous and that's coming from someone everybody on here calls a MS fanboy. I know in the past they've said they don't want to show games too soon and that's probably why they didn't show Fable and whatever The Initiative is working on. They only showed a Halo trailer because the fans wanted something.

I had the same thought... If Sony played truant for E3 this year hoping for MS to reveal (at least part of) their hand so they ( Sony) could make some adjustments to the specs of the PS5, there must be some disappointment at Sony HQ right about now, lol

Next gen halo looks unimpressive? What are you talk about? THEY DIDN'T SHOW SQUAT!!! That's the disappointing thing. No gameplay, no real snippet of the story events nothing. I just hope it's not a halo 3 clone. Half the community want it to be for dumb reasons and the haters that don't even play halo. I swear sprint and clamber better be in the game.

That wasn't even a next gen footage. All that was was some early prototype...probably from PC or something (listen to Greenbergs..."uh...ah...w e are early" response).
