honestly i am not impressed by R2 at all, i play R2 beta and it does not look like next-gen killer app. from SONY, textures in some places eg. vehicles look horible, explosion effects are very bad too.

i would say that COD:WW looks much better than R2 from what i've seen.

i am almost sure i will not buy R2.

This game is the COMPLETE package and I will be playing it for a long, long time...
I bet the same will happen like last time when I purchased GOW and R, the same will happen this time

R2 will be getting played long after I have enjoyed GOW2 and traded that game back in, since R2 has just a large and diverse online gameplay

Best 1st person shooter this year, in my opinion. I love how this game controls now too. Familiar to the previous game, but with some tweaks that make it feel a lot better to me. I'm not sure I could ever go back and play Resistance 1 again.

What a week this is. First this great game, and then Gears at the end of the week.

It looks like we should only rely on ourselves. We know this game is greater than the scores it is receiving. We are all that matters. So be it. Be warned though Sony fans, Killzone 2 will be getting the same Media treatment come February. Now, lets fight together. See you online.

I agree it's missing that punch in the lighting side, but that's really Killzone 2's fault. It's still the best looking shooter this year. The moment you walk outside to view the San Francisco invasion with your own eyes, prepare to pick your jaw up off the floor.

The scale is intimidating.

That said, i really like the fact that only two weapons are selectable now instead of eight. It adds some needed strategy to the gameplay, and the weapons feel awesome. The enemy and especially team AI is done well. The huge encounters are loads of fun, too.

the visuals are the best ive seen this year by far.... and ill tell you why:

you can tell wen a dev puts hard earned work and patience into effect,you can tell the graphics are the best by viewing them up close... alot,and i mean A CRAP LOAD of games have great visuals from a distance no doubt but zoom in on the enviorment or the character itself and you will see were they failed to impress (example: COD4,HAZE,FARCRY 2) dont get me wrong,thos games have great visuals (despite haze) but wen you acually take a closer look you'll see how much time they ACUALLY spent on more then just ONE thing...

NOW: Resistance is that kind of game were the visuals are soooooo efing compelling and advanced that you can zoom in as much as you want at the enviorment,and people around including the enemies and see the the graphics are even BETTER then as seen from, a distance witch tell you something: that insomniacs knowledge,technology,patience, and hard work payed off EXTREAMLY WELL.. i ecourage you all to seriously do that,take a real good close up look and you will see perfection at its finest.

as far as the beta was concerned ,peeps have to remember that it was called a BETA for a reason not a DEMO,so theres ALLWAYS gunna be problems,but thats the point... so you can develope feedback for the dev's to improve on the game and ill tell you wut,insomniac did NOT dissapoint.

if Gears 2 would of done a beta stage,then they would a had a better polish accomplishment on their game,cuz by the looks of it not everyone is very impressed with gears 2,i mean multiplayer yeah it might be kool but it only has a few things going for it in the WHOLE GAME in itself,witch to alot is a dissapointment.

if anyone knows wut im talking about then hear this: a sequel should be something thats COMPLETELY different yet exactly the same. :) and IMHO Resistance hit that right on the DOT.

I live in NZ and want to apologise for the amateur review presented by this NZ gaming site. It did not even address such fundamentals as:

- How long is the campaign?
- Is there replay value to the single player campaign?
- Is co-op available for the single player campaign also?
- What about multi-player and co-op modes?
- What sort of replay value does the co-op mode provide?
- What about the lobby system (all too important when living in NZ)
- What about perks and classes?

Basically the review feels like someone trying to comment after watching videos of the game on Youtube or playing the beta. This is amateur stuff and does not really help anyone in their purchasing decision.

Resistance 3 was such a FREAKING good game. It was a shame that the market was flooded with quality stuff at that time, because I'm pretty sure it was overlooked by MANY (plus, I was in gaming retail at the time, so I KNOW it was overlooked by many).

I only played 1 and 2. I preferred 2. I thought the campaign was great, although it did have too much influence from COD. The online was a lot of fun, especially the 8-player coop campaign.

That series deserves a remaster collection, as does Warhawk.

Tough choice here. I only played the 3 main titles but I loved them all very much and for different reason. I definitely played 1 more than the other ones, but that was because early PS3 life cycle there wasn't much else I was interested in besides MotorStorm.

2 had the really interesting, ahead of its time co-op (if it had been on 360 it would be constantly talked about still, but games journalists really didn't acknowledge multiplayer games on PS3 and really only acknowledged single player games from Naughty Dog). But the campaign in 2 was just bad. It clearly suffered from trying to be more like the games coming out around it (mostly COD) rather than embracing the spirit of more classic FPS games like 1 and 3 did so well.

4. Resistance: Burning Skies (good Vita shooter actually)

All good games but Resistance 3 has the best weapons, the most polish, 3D TV support, and a great ending to the series.

Fall of Man still holds a special place in my heart, but 2 and 3 were still very good. I miss those games.

Great trilogy. Loved the second game the most with its colorful graphics and the setting. Wish Insomniac would either make a trilogy remaster for PS5 or a new game in the series.

for me is 3,2,1. I thought 1 was overrated.

For me, 3, 1, 2. Never played the portable one, but I always used to hear about how good it was.

R:Fom, R2, then the its not even a sequel so I don't know why its called R3...

Are people saying R3 CoD fans? Cuz mp completely abandoned its roots, it was a terrible CoD wannabe.. Story was an abomination as well, stupid ending too....

R2 story was great, loved the live action stuff pre release. gameplay for it was a complete step back, the first one I felt like I was a part of the war, R2 you may as well have not had allies cuz every enemy was only focused on you. AMAZING ahead of its time Coop saved this game. MP was kinda meh, also a step backwards, gameplay changes for it were handled poorly.

R:FOM had some unpolished unfinished rough edges. You could definitely tell it was rushed. But story premise was freaking amazing, and playing with a buddy and stuff going on all over the place, I really felt a part of a war. Best MP in the series hands down, really inventive and different from everything else out there at that time and really to this day honestly.

I would love to have a new entry in this series!

I loved this game.

Resistance 2 was the best complete package for a shooter, along with Modern Warfare 2. Even though some people disliked the single player, as an action game I'd say it was better than any of the Call of Duty campaigns, which used to be pretty great.

Resistance: Fall of Man was one of my first online gaming experiences and one of my favourites, 40 players on the Manchester Cathedral map was so much fun. I would love this series to come back, even if it was a collection it deserves more than being stranded on PS3.

I loved the resistance games and it would probably be a factor in getting me to go search for a ps5 if they ever made a sequel

Resistance was the reason i bought a PS3. I wish they didn't end it early in 3. From what i understand they were supposed to keep it going and we would have gotten to see the chimera planet and the pure chimera but Insomniac said they got bored of making the same type of game so they gave it the ending in 3 so they could move on.

Remakes, Remasters, Reboot, sequels.....I’ll take anything, just anything they wanna throw at us fans of the series. Too good a franchise to lie dormant while the technical enhancements of the PS5 are ripe and ready to make our eyes bleed, with an in-house Insomniac pushing the boundaries.
