Have to check out their VR titles

Neonridr2551d ago

Lone Echo was fantastic, and the sequel should hopefully improve on the original.

Scatpants2550d ago

Echo Combat is probably the most fun I've ever had playing a multiplayer game.

robtion2551d ago (Edited 2551d ago )

Unlikely, but would love to see a follow up to The Order. Great setting with lots of potential.

sampsonon2551d ago

especially when all these other games like Detroit and Until dawn which are similar in in that they are geared towards story. were highly successful and critically acclaimed.

we are ready for the next chapter. i really want to know what happens next.

MadLad2551d ago

Difference being those were designed to be, essentially, interactive movies.
1886 was just a 4 hour long, shallow 3rd person shooter with quick-time events.

sampsonon2551d ago

T@heRealTedCruz 4 hrs? you are an idiot. nothing more to say. dumbass

DaDrunkenJester2551d ago

I hate to say it in any context, but Ted Cruz is right.

It was a shallow 3rd person shooter that at max lasted 6 hours if you stopped and tried to find stuff. The boss fights were all repeated QTE's, and the cover shooting was pretty average. However, I really do want to see a sequel because I love the story, theme, and setting. I think they nailed that. So if they can bring the actual gameplay to be fun, longer, and more engaging then it would be a great title. The visuals were also fantastic, but lets get rid of those black bars.

MadLad2551d ago

Such a mature and well articulated response. Look at the big boy throwing around his big boy words.

P_Bomb2550d ago (Edited 2550d ago )

There are plenty of games, good games even, that go on and on, outstaying their welcome. Only 6 hours long? Good! I already have umpteen campaign grinders under my belt. Don’t need to pop 100hrs every time.

Persona 5: had to play through every damn day of the calendar year while still being limited to one or two activities. 150hrs. RDR2 took me 3 months to cross the finish line. Every Yakuza takes at least 50 hours from me for substory completionist. Times that by 7. Currently on DG and my platinum run has me north of 60 already. MGSV, HZD, AC, Nioh, Nier, ROTR Anniversary, GOW. Beat em all. Many over 100hrs in. Some over 150.

Sometimes I want/need something quick fast and fun like a John Wick, that I can demolish without needing a haircut and toenail trim by the time I’m done, LOL!

S2Killinit2550d ago

Shallow? The fight against the wolf thing was, the shoot outs were not shallow.

And to be fair it was slightly less long as other games in its genre. Especially in their first iteration.

Everything else was top notch. Music, atmosphere, graphics, setting, lore, shooting mechanics.

There was something unremarkable about the end product i guess, but it was a good game overall.

TekoIie2550d ago

@S2Killinit

Tell me about the lore then. What's the history of The Order's world since King Arthur went missing? Why do the Vampires and Werewolves have an alliance? Are there any monsters besides the two most popular and overused ones in folklore? Also the ending is terrible and it tries to make out that Galahad cares about The Order and was willing to appear to be the traitor to keep it's existence and honor intact, and he's convinced to do this BY THE PERSON WHO CAUSED IT ALL.

I've argued with Sampsonon on this and he chose not to respond so he obviously really enjoyed this game but doesn't have any real defense of it other than, as we just saw, name calling. It's okay to like the game but lets not pretend it's anything more than what it is which is a stunning visual display with a shallow plot, underused setting, average TPS mechanics and generally speaking lacking in content.

I've even said I want RAD to be given a second chance and be allowed to reboot the entire series and start with the formation of The Order because it has potential but it's first showing was completely average.

nucky642550d ago

i'm with you sampsonon - with the vampire/werewolf war looming - i want the next chapter of the game. i liked the order. my big gripe was there wasn't enough exploration/secrets in that beautiful world.

Yeah, I'm highly critical of the Order 1886, but I also really believe that it's one of the best examples of a game this generation that really needs a sequel. The game had a lot of issues, but it laid the groundwork for what could be a well-loved franchise.

UltraNova2551d ago

Yes the first game was more like a teaser for the full fat thing. A teaser that made me want more! We really need a sequel as much as RaD needs to make one and show their true capabilities.

What worries me is their current relationship with Sony. I'm not sure but I remember reading somewhere, a long time ago, that RaD and Sony weren't on the best of terms...so of its true then a sequel might never happen.

TekoIie2550d ago

"it's one of the best examples of a game this generation that really needs a sequel. The game had a lot of issues, but it laid the groundwork for what could be a well-loved franchise."

Nah forget sequel. Reboot it. I don't want a follow on from that awful ending.

DaGR8JIBRALTAR2551d ago (Edited 2551d ago )

Please let it be The Order 2!

Oh shit...nevermind.

The_Sage2551d ago

Please make The Order 1887.

ClayRules20122551d ago

Yes. I wanna see what happens next. That ending...

Not looking good. Hopefully Asha Sharma is able to turn Phil’s disaster around.

dveio17d ago

To me it's still quite remarkable how they can cash-in 5.3bn in revenue in a single quarter, since their hardware is basically dead.

Jingsing17d ago

The stock mark is what makes Microsoft remarkable, They have convinced every institutional and retail investor to just keep piling money into them. Like many big tech giants they are just a big growing pyramid scheme. As long as people keep dropping money into ETF's that cover the market Microsoft will always be liquid. At the same time it is completely stifling innovation and competition. People need to start being more discreet in how they invest their money as it's killing the system.

Tanktopmaster9217d ago

Once they re-evaluate exclusive all will be fine….

S2Killinit17d ago

Riiiiight because people will just flock back to them for one or two games per year.

Jingsing17d ago

15+ years of bad performance is what they call irreparable in business. It is time for them to sell off the assets and get out of entertainment.

Tanktopmaster9217d ago

These declines are on the back of extra revenue received from releasing games like Forza horizon 5 on PlayStation. So I’m being sarcastic here when I said they should go back to exclusives. Killing off a revenue stream from Ps5 sales will only make things worse
