VGR: Sid Meier's Civilization: Colonization Review

VGR:

"What's great about Colonization is its modding support; Players will have limitless options for modifying the game to suit their needs. Firaxis will ship the game with modding tools including a map editor using XML and Python. So you'll have all the tools at your fingertips and enjoy messing with the game. Visually, the game looks pretty good…although a bit dated; I think it's time for a next-gen look for the series, one with DX10 visuals and all the trimmings.

Being an expansion pack, Colonization offers quite a lot to the table and will impress fans and newcomers alike with a new interface that's easy to use. It may be getting a bit old and dated now, but it's still a solid game that any strategy fan will love."

Top 5 Strategy Games Every PC Gamer Should Play

GameFront, "In an age when even old-school FPS gurus like iD’s John Carmack are defecting to consoles, you can still be sure of one thing: strategy gaming has ever been and will always be the province of PC’s. Whether it’s due to the more cerebral, measured gameplay, or — more likely — the crucial importance of mouse controls, the jump to other platforms is rarely successful. Despite their large market share and stable, unchanging hardware, consoles struggle to sustain a pure strategy game."

Amazon seems to have it for a fairly cheap price.

Damn it I want to play Homeworld. Why hasn't Relic got it up on a digital distribution service like Steam?!
