You can change any button assignment in the system settings in the PS4.

Cueil2604d ago

Same on Xbox, but that is system level

bmf73642604d ago

It'd be nice for a system update to allow different button profiles for specific games.

Cueil2603d ago

That would be great bmf... It should not even be something Devs need to be worried about adding

rainslacker2603d ago (Edited 2603d ago )

Does it matter? You can do this on an individual game by game basis, so I dont see why the dev has to implement it on their own. You dont even need to stop the game to make it happen.

@BMW

I'm pretty sure its game by game. Or at least you can set up profiles. Not sure how many games people play at one time on consoles to require more than they may offer.

annoyedgamer2604d ago

Because sheep will still line up. And it isn't limited to gaming either.

Cmv382604d ago

Well this was pretty dumb.

pietro12122604d ago

Probably the same reason why gamers act like entitled children

NXFather2604d ago (Edited 2604d ago )

Sorry about the double post.

NXFather2604d ago

Dear Lord
Don't speak Truth on here.

nucky642604d ago (Edited 2604d ago )

are you speaking for the entitled children?

JackBNimble2604d ago

Ya well without "paying" gamers dev's don't have a job.
This is one of the few industries where someone can sell a trash product and then call the customer entitled .... go fuck yourself

pietro12122604d ago

Missing the entire point. There's a difference in calling out a bad product, or pointing out bad policies from game companies (as well as not supporting that project). But people tend to take it too far like the whole thing about CyberPunk 2077 being in first person. Let's not for forget fans threatening developers, publishers and gamers alike because they don't like something.

Cobra9512604d ago

Talk about speaking truth here. Thanks for that. I still struggle to understand the use of the word "entitled" as an insult. We are all entitled to get what we pay for, and we don't intentionally pay for crap or broken games.

rainslacker2604d ago

Entitled, in this context, not by definition, is the concept that one feels they are owed something, and others must comply with that reasoning. If they don't get what they want, then they go to the extremes to make an ass out of themselves by what many call "whining".

Just saying what you'd like, or why you won't buy the game because it doesn't offer you what you want, is not entitlement. It's a routine habit of people who live in a free market society, and is perfectly acceptable when kept within limits. However, harsh criticisms are not entitlement. The number of people who actually feel entitled are rather limited, they're just pretty vocal.

krauley2604d ago

@pietro1212 you are kind of right but also wrong. what i believe is that most of the crap going on at places like n4g and other gamer sites is mostly by nongamers or gamers with more agenda than gaming. the ones that start shit or jump on the negitive bandwagons are mostly here to cause chaos or just being crappy individuals towards those of us that come here primarily to share in gamer info. now im willing to bet some gamers do contribute to the shit stirring but mostly its people that have a hobby or just being negative online.

having said that, you are right that most just act like entitled children.

starchild2604d ago

I agree with you that most gamers are normal, sensible people and what you get on gaming forums is heavily weighted towards the trolls, fanboys, negative Nancies, and entitled complainers even though they don't represent the majority of gamers. It's annoying because it largely destroys the social aspect of the gaming community online, but those kinds of people have nothing better in their lives and they probably aren't going away any time soon.

AK912604d ago

And you think game devs/journalists don't?

pietro12122604d ago

Journalists... heck yes! A lot of publishers especially the big wigs too. My bad, if it seems like I'm only singling out gamers.

AK912604d ago

@pietro1212 no problem bro

nucky642604d ago

pietro, "entitled children" - you mean like how pc gamers behaved when metro:exodus released exclusively on the epic store?

NXFather2604d ago

Whos child is that talking to me?

"Be creative 99% of the time" – Glen Schofield on how creativity can help fix AAA industry woes

The Callisto Protocol director thinks the solution involves the right people, the right timing, and perhaps a little bit of AI

I don't agree with that. I WISH I could agree with that. But buying habits and customer opinions prove otherwise

We've seen developers in the AAA space try new things and ideas. More often than not, the customers aren't willing to give things a chance, or not enough people buy into the project for it to grow.

Creativity works better in the indie space because the budgets, pressures, and expectations aren't the same.

Scissorman42d ago

it's a nice idea and it worked during the PS2/PS3-era when AAA didn't cost hundreds of millions of dollars. smaller budgets and shorter development time left room for more creativity and more risk. a game didn't need to sell 4 million+ copies to break even. things are different now.

This is the guy who bragged about crunching his staff and having them work through the night. Crunch culture has lost more talent and done more damage to the industry than any other factor. Screw him.
