looks virtually identical (from what I can tell), which is not a bad thing at all. Never played this one, so looking forward to giving this a go on my Switch.

Looks very close, ya. All I noticed was a few extra stutters on switch but overall, a tempting package on either platform.

Me too....I never played FF VII and FF IX neither and I just finished IX before few weeks, It was just epic!! Now I have FF VII and it is very similar to IX. After those I will start FF X which I have already played before. And then....FF XII to see the new battle system, I am really curious.

Please do. You won't be sorry. Specially if you like/love any Ivalice Alliance game (FF Tactics, FF Tactics Advance, FFT A2, Vagrant Story). This is my favorite FF after 6 which I hold in an extremely high regard.
Played this extensively on PS2 and gonna give it a go again soon to see the Zodiac Age game changes.

It was a departure from the more turn-based earlier games. Strictly speaking, XII is still turn based, but it's wrapped in a real-time package. You can game the combat system by running away, then charging the enemy as the attack bar is about to fill up. Whack away, repeat. Give orders to your party, change the party member you're possessing on the fly. World is 3D and feels open (though it really isn't). Overall, probably my favorite FF up until then, mostly because of the versatile and satisfying gameplay.

It's a great game, just give it some time. I was initially turned off by how different it was from other final fantasies, i.e. focusing on the world instead of characters, the real time battle system, etc. But that turned out to be its biggest strength.

Wow. Other than some slightly crappier textures, the Switch version looks almost as good.

Either the Switch version is super optimized, or the PS4 version is not. Or some combination of both.

Or it's a remaster of a PS2 game lol... It should look the same

Imortus_san2607d ago (Edited 2607d ago )

The remaster of FF12 complety runied due crushed blacks.

I mean, it's a PS2 game, lol. Just beat this game for the first time yesterday, I quite enjoyed it. Debating whether I want to put the work into beating Yiazmat and platinuming it. I read that it can be a 4+ hour fight, but I saw youtube videos of people beating him in 10 minutes, so it can't be that bad.

Teflon022607d ago

Probably 4 hours if you're not prepared and don't know what you're doing. Alot of people can make things look easy online. But people also exaggerate things too

Had this on ps4 ages ago. What price is switch version releasing at

King_Noctis2607d ago

It is the exact same price as the Ps4 version ($50).

I got the Bluray PS4 version of FF12 (new) for AUD$15.00 (USD$10.70) a few months ago since it was on special.

It must be noted that the PS4 version of FF12 is 1080p and looks quite nice on my 32" HDR 4K monitor although to be fair I do have my monitor emulating HDR since the game does not support HDR.

NOTE: All PS4's do support HDR if HDR is implemented in the game http://www.pushsquare.com/n... . Of course HDR will only work on a TV or monitor that supports HDR.

I'm glad Nioh got some love, but I think Nioh 2 should be there too, an even more polished game imho. :)

The graphics of 2015’s Bloodborne do not hold up. This game needs a remaster.

shinoff21831432d ago

I personally dont think ff10 is the best ff on there and bloodborne imo is the best rpg on there. I guess i still prefer my jrpg to be turn based and not action rpgs.
