They certainly have turned it around compared to the start of the gen. They aren't my personal MVP, but I can't say I don't enjoy Capcom's games.

I enjoyed RE2, Street Fighter 5, Marvel vs capcom Infinite, Megaman 11, DMC5 and RE7. The only game I didn’t play was Monster Hunter world. It just wasn’t my type of game.

Very glad to see Capcom returning to their roots with the likes of RE 7, RE 2 Remake, Monster Hunter World, & DMC 5.
I hope they'll keep this up with the eventual RE 3 Remake, as well as bring back some of their other classics such as Dino Crisis & Breath of Fire games.

Would be awesome. I'm also hoping the Dragon's Dogma on Switch means another game is coming, and also they just put Onimusha on PS4 and Xbox One, hoping again that means a new Onimusha in the works.

I think Dragon's Dogma 2 is a good bet. The game being ported to Switch (which I think is a fantastic idea) plus the recently announced DD anime for Netflix are very good signs that Capcom is not sitting idle on the franchise.

They were my favorite developer for a long time when I was a kid. Really nice to see this streak they're on right now. The thing that's crazy is with how bad I've wanted them to bring back Onimusha, with Nioh, Ghost of Tsushima, and Sekiro, I wonder if they see that as an opening or a crowded room.

Hoping for a new Capcom fighting jam as their next announcement. But other than that capcom has deff redeemed themselves from the vast backlash theyve faced since the start of the new console generation.

They are not fully back until they get their fighting games in order and stop treating the Switch like the Wii U or Vita. I love DMC5 and they have made great strides to be better. Mega Man 11 was darn good as well. They were my fave 3rd party company in the 90s. I don't expect the Capcom of the 90s to ever come back as no company these days can sustain themselves with what seemed like a new great IP every week. Again it's fantastic to see them treating treasured IPs so well minus SF & MVC. I would like to see them release some great new IPs as well.

Capcom have come back in a big way this gen and arguably made multiple contenders for GOTY throughout. This gen was damn good for single player games

If it hadn't been for God of War and Read Dead Redemption 2 hogging all the awards, last year Monster Hunter World would have won GOTY comfortably. And it's DEFINITELY the best coop game of last year up to now. Other loot-based coop games like Destiny and Anthem are just embarrassing compared to MHW's scale and value.

I completely disagree.

Capcom has had good versions of their new games for sure... Monster Hunter, RE7, and DMC5. And the RE2 remake is awesome.

But their start was awful this generation with Street Fighter V. Although a great fighting game it was not designed well at the start. Also, their Deadrising remasters were disasters. And the RE and DMC remasters were just average with no new value other then pay for them on new consoles.

Capcom has been solid lately, but their early work this generation was awful.

From an overall complete generation performance I think the best publisher this generation has been Ubisoft. Outside of the first two ACs this generation all the rest of their games have been very solid. And they have avoided remastering more then any other publisher. Not exceptional, but solid all the way.

Jesus, of all the companies you could have mentioned, you went with UBISOFT? The company that makes games run like crap by piggybacking Denuvo and UPlay both on their games? The company that has milked the open-world genre to the point the cow's tit has cancer? The company that cannot release a single game without harassing you for money with microtransactions? You're demential. EA, Activision and Ubisoft are the three-headed hydra of AAA gaming evil. Capcom have been doing aces compared to them. Monster Hunter World alone completely destroys anything Ubisoft released last year right out of the water.

I have every Ubisoft and Capcom game this generation, I have not payed for a single microtransaction in a Ubisoft game and did not feel harassed in having to.

None of you comments talk about the quality of Ubisoft's games this generation. I will agree that none of the games are exceptional but they were all solid games that were engaging, solid graphics, excellent controls, and solid experiences from start to end.

At the start of the generation Capcom spent most of the first two years "porting" games from previous generation to this generation. And when I say porting that was polite. The Deadrising ports were awful, the RE ports had zero value and RE5 and RE6 were garbage ports, Dragons Dogma brought no new value, and same with the DMC ports. To say the least these were unveiled attempts to milk fans of these franchises after being startved of new quality content. Deadrising 3 and 4 offered very little as well. And SF's initial offering was poultry and a waste of money for the first 3-6 months (They chose a bad monetization model charging people $60 for an content incomplete game). MvC Inifinite was OK. Yes, RE7, Monster Hunter, RE2 remake, and the new DMC5 are awesome games. But that does not make up for the crap they tried to do at the start of the generation... RE Revelations 1/2, Megaman Collections, RE5, RE6, RE4, RE0, RE, DMC reboot, DMC HD Collection, SF 30th Anniversary Collection, DMC4, DR1, DR2, DR2, Off the Record were all shameless game ports with absolutely nothing new at premium prices because they were on the new consoles. In fact, many of the new ports from last generation even had framerate issues on the new consoles. And in the DMC and RE games a few of them not only were shameless ports but they also were pushing microtransactions as well through costumes. Just because they have made a few awesome games lately, that does not make Capcom Cinderella to gamers. And on XBO Capcom could've supplied 90% of their remakes through BC as well but have chosen to milk the gamers for subpar ports rather then provide BC versions of those ports.

Meanwhile Ubisoft. Yes, I will agree that their games through the generation have not been a bunch of 9 and 10 out of 10s. But every game is deserving of 8s. I would rather play 10 games that were 8s, then 9 games that were 2s and 1 game that was a 10. While Capccom was spewing out ports I was playing AC, For Honor, Watch Dogs, The Division, and Rainbow Six Seige quite happily. And now I play the new Capcom games. But, when I look at everything both publisher released this generation Ubisoft has consistently delivered better then average experiences across the board while Capcom started brutally, and are trying to make up for it by wowing gamers with a few very good quality new games.

Because they focused on games, and made sure to actually use all their IPs rather than sitting on them like some companies have. They also put time and effort into what they made and didn’t just slap together a turd and assume it would sell it on name brand alone like some companies have. They’ve also shown they care about their roots and provided us with some great retro collections in addition to all the solid modern games they’ve put out.

So yes, Capcom deserves props and it’s good to know they haven’t gone the way of their former rival Konami. Here’s hoping they will continue to do what they do and not lose sight of why people love their games, like some companies unfortunately have.
