To me it's still quite remarkable how they can cash-in 5.3bn in revenue in a single quarter, since their hardware is basically dead.

I think Microsoft is moving away from consoles but not fully, I think they'll have gamepass on Switch and even PlayStation eventually plus Project X cloud will be everywhere. Smart tvs, PCs, Phones, all consoles..
There will still be an Xbox but I think they'll eventually aim for high end. A bit like the Surface range of computers..
and Sony will just stay in the past making traditional AAA new ip's.
i never realized just how good Detroit would be but i must say i am blown away by the story and the set pieces.

This was most likely Microsoft’s original goal when they entered the console market
