Great news!

I hope it performs well everywhere.

Nyxus2517d ago

It didn't perform that well in the UK though.

LabRat2517d ago

Physical sales weren't great, but I think more and more people are going digital which these numbers dont include.

Kraytossmeoff2517d ago

I’m enjoying it mate not going lie 😁......(incoming I’m a paid shill EA loving cock rider comments 😂)

Urzusix2517d ago

Surely if your enjoying it you must be the most upset at the state of the game? There is no doubt a good game at the heart but everything around it is a mess, from the lack of gear to the way the story is presented. you can see what they wanted to do but couldn't due to the engine and time. The game is a mess and shouldn't be sold as is. and saying "Ohhh but I'm enjoying it!" sends the message to publishers that they can ship games in this state and people will defend it

Donnie812517d ago

Dude I’ve enjoyed it myself. The game is ok just a bunch of haters wanna trash it without ever playing it.

CDbiggen2517d ago

You cockriding, EA loving paid shill.
The more this generic trash sells, the more we'll get of it. How can you be so selfish?

tinchotin2517d ago

It's bad news if this garbage sells well and metro sells bad

littlezizu2517d ago

It sold half of what Mass effect :Armada sold and 1/10 of destiny.

Its funny how other sites are trying justify Anthems poor sale. Most point to digital sales not added...Fair enough. Digital accounts for between 25% to 30% of all sales, so by using the top end of that ratio plus a generous 10% you will still only get to a figure of 56 thousand copies sold.

This must be very concerning for Bioware a once revered name in gaming sinking to an EA level developer. EA will of course blame Bioware but they can blame no one but them selves. Bioware will be shut down but that in my view is a good thing.

Whats also concerning is Metro Exodus' huge drop in sales.

UltraNova2517d ago

Exodus must have had a huge drop off in sales numbers within days of release. There's no other way to explain that price drop.

LabRat2517d ago (Edited 2517d ago )

While I agree the game sucks balls, your underestimating digital sales.

https://www.gamesindustry.b...

This was back in 2017, I bet its closer to 50% or more now in 2019.

Metro Exodus got a lot of bad press right before release by backing out of Steam, making users cancel preorders and review bombing it.

Inzo2516d ago (Edited 2516d ago )

Actually digital sales account for about 75 to 80% of sales in the UK however, this also includes DLC, MTs, etc.... Digital sales on average still just account for about 30% of actual game sales.

aaronaton2517d ago

Ariana Grande tops our UK music charts....It means nothing.

maybelovehate2517d ago

Ariana Grande is amazing. Not sure your point there.

Inzo2517d ago

Sales mean nothing? ......ok.

Unspoken2517d ago

McDonalds still exists.

Traecy2517d ago

An audio music album & a videogame are entirely 2 different things no comparison, that analogy is off.

N4G. Where positively goes to die.

Ive personally been uninterested in this game from the get go but since this audience only wants third person, story driven, walking/ talking simulators I hope this game does phenomenal. Good for the silent majority enjoying the game. Just like Destiny 1 and 2.

Could Anthem live on? Tech allowing local server hosting existed, former executive producer says

BioWare's multiplayer shooter Anthem was terminated this week because EA no longer wanted to maintain servers for people to play the game on, and without them, no one can play the game. But the former executive producer of Anthem has revealed that BioWare had technology working, close to the game's release, that would enable us to host our own servers to play the game on.

EA/Bioware should allow us to host our own servers to let this game live on.

I'd be fine just playing it as a localhost and dumb as rocks AI bots. Just give me the choice.

Anthem Players Report Download Errors A Week Before Shutdown

BioWare and EA had previously said the game would be accessible to those who owned it until it shuts down on January 12.

Never buy online games unless there is some kind of refund policy.

Only days remain before EA will switch off the servers to BioWare's ill-fated multiplayer game

Time flies (like a Javelin suit): there are only 10 days left to play BioWare's ill-fated multiplayer game Anthem before the servers are switched off, presumably forever.

In my opinion, Anthem was a good IP that was worthy of a no man's sky or cyberpunk 2077 treatment.

To this day, their sub reddit is active and I was able to get into a game quickly a few weeks ago when I booted it up.

It is a shame EA and Bioware didn't want to give the game the overhaul it needed to turn it into a competent looter shooter.

GamerRN13d ago

They were close to releasing the overhauled version and then EA cancelled it

TheGamersDojo11d ago

I wholeheartedly agree. If ANY game deserved to get the rework/relaunch it deserved it was this one. More than literally any other. Even over FFXIV, No Mans Sky etc.

SlothLordPootus13d ago

I just finished this up a couple days ago. Although it's a bit repetitive and the story is meh, the game feels great to play. Even if you can only hop on the game for a couple hours before it shuts down, I think it's worth it.

chicken_in_the_corn13d ago

Really enjoyed this. Shame to see it go.

Software_Lover13d ago

I didnt know servers were still up. I could have been playing!!!

2nd comment attempt (1st doesn’t appear & this may register as duplicate):

They can spend billions to buy or get bought but they can’t spend a fraction of that to fix or overhaul a game that could have been truly special, smh.
