Nothing wrong with remakes. We can have new games and remakes of beloved games from the past. Some remakes this generation were absolutely great.

A lot of people WANT Remakes. (And new games at the same time)
People always talking about "we" and "needing"....dont speak for myself and others..

I personally prefer reboots; completely scraping the core gameplay and story and making the IP something more relevant to today's gaming market.

Yes. Imagine the early Persona games remade using the P5 engine. Or the early Elder Scrolls games. Or Diabo 1 and 2 remade. There is a plethora of content out there that could be remade into brand new games.

Yes. We need to remind the industry why those games were held at high regards.
Remakes like RE2 did not include new gameplay mechanics that weren't in the original. But sadly, publishers (for some reason) started to think these gameplay styles are bad and not wanted

Horror genre basically died when capcom turned RE into action game and konami(#fuckkonami) turn silent hill into dungeon crawler(vita exclusive)

Square enix dropped the turn-base rpg even though games like bravely default,persona5 and octopath traveler showed that the gamers want it

And of course, the recent" SiNGlE pLaYeR GaMEs ArE DeAd". Just because some idiot suits said we don't want those type of games doesn't mean we have to follow them

And the best way is to show that our love for those types of games didn't die is by supporting them all these years later

Why would anyone want a remake of a game just so a publisher can fleece you for more money. I mean I've heard it said time and time again that remakes and remasters aren't needed if your console is backwards compatible and can brute force upgrade resolution. So I doubt anyone who have made such statements would surely say that remakes and remasters are not necessary for their console of choice. Unless of course the remake brings a host of new changes and new content to the game that were not originally available when the game first came out years ago.

I still want a Demon's Souls remake, along with a few other games from previous gens.

Yes. I would love to see old games remaster with modern graphics at a discounted price though. Like r&c re2 Links awakening looks good but the art style is well unexpected

If it's of same calibre as that of resident evil 2 then yes. It's definitely a yes. I'd even go on and say that publishers should rather make remake than make the so called "remaster" which are nothing but a new colour filter cash grab.

Yes most defintly. RE2 remake made me reflect on why I hated 4 so much and come to find out it was the view, it was the actual story, and the midget guy, and sub zero selling me weapons and stuff. The secret of mana remake was pretty good to. Verdicts still out on ff7, no doubt ill get it but im gonna miss turn based battles for what looks to be more action oriented fights.

If they have effort put into them then yes but if they’re half assed then no.
