I LOVED R1!!! in fact it is probably the FUNNEST game i have played yet. Don't get me wrong. I loved MGS4, Gears 1, GTA 4, and other blockbuster games but even though some of those games might have been "BETTER" games they weren't as FUN to me as R1. If R2 even comes close to the way R1 played i will be happy. I will admit then when i first played the R2 beta i was slightly dissapointed. No respawning weapons? no weapon wheel? No ownage with the carbine. Actually the weapons in R2 are FAR more balanced then they were in R1. In fact i have been switching weapons about every 2 respawns to see if one weapon seems a little better than all the others. If any or overpowered its the marksman. that thing pisses me off. Now that i have played R2 a little more i think i like it quite a bit actually. Kind of a mix of R1 and COD4 with the cool sci-fi twist. DAY one for me. it's actually quite nice to play a war game that isn't grey and gloomy. They don't all have to look the same. killzone 2 is coming in Feb. I'll save my grey and gloomy side for that game!!

Killzone 2 gets slammed for being so gray; Resistance 2 gets slammed for being so colorful.

Beta takes alot of getting used to.

I've played the single player at eurogamer and i can say it is far, far better.

I didn't like it much... Once again maybe it's the PS3 Controller I hate the most... I like the graphic's from the first one more then this one, R2 is way to colorful making it look cartoonish I still rent it run run though the single player but this game does nothing Special for me...

Im not in the resistance beta so had to go round a friends who luckily is to play it.
While i agree the graphics arn't mind blowing there is hell of a lot going on onscreen so thats to be expected. Same thing happened with Halo3 and that turned out fine.
Gameplay wise i thought it was very good and reading the reviews it seems as though theres plenty to get you busy so thats a big pat on the back.
From what ive seen it looks like its going to a very good addition to the ps3 catalogue and dare i say it im starting to think this has more going for it than Killzone2.

I love how people are complaining there is too much color in R2, when they were complaining that it was all brown and grey in R1.

Be careful what you wish for.

to me this game doesn't look all that unique, ill just wait for KZ 2 now to pick up my ps3. was going to get this, but not worth my time.

I totally agree with this article. The beta was not that great. All you do is shoot at the enemy and move on. There's no meat to the online play. I'll be picking up Gears 2 and call of duty. That will keep me busy until Killzone 2

and RFOM2 looks to be a great experience.......playing the beta...and so far I like it..I never was a fan on RFOM 1 online...but I can see me spending some quality time online...

I really liked the beta because it was so much fun! I was playing with this group of 7 people and everybody was so pumped on the co-op and we started to feel so united that now we're all friends on PSN and we'll going to make a clan on Resistance 2 when it comes out. This is like the first time i experience something like this on and online game. Everybody was talking about; "wow this was so much fun we need to play together again and blah blah blah."

The game forces you to play as a team and because of that everybody feels like they are important, everybody has to do their part. I don't know if i'm making myself clear with this but at the end my opinion is that the beta was awesome!

-Why so much hate for every PS3 exclusive? first was MGS4 and now is Resistance 2 and soon will be Killzone 2. It's so hard to be a Playstation fan these days... Everybody everywhere even in Puerto Rico are always saying to me that the PS3 sux and blah blah blah.

Played the R2 beta and I like COD4 multiplayer better. I'll rent R2 and WAW to see which one to buy. R2 campaign will probably be awesome.

enjoy the beta either. i wanted to see what the hype for this game was as friends told me that the first game was awesome online. after playing it a few times i got bored of it quickly. so no i wont be getting this game.

I got to play RS2 Beta and I can't say its all good, but its refreshing experience. Especially for the quite smooth connection, didn't feel any lag in 20v20 TDM.

Anyway, it is still day 1 purchase for me. Can't wait to play story and full co-op mode.

game doesnt have aim assist like most fps now and days so this guy probly cant head shot anyone and just keeps gettin ran over. I was hating on r2 when I first played it cause if felt like you needed a full clip but once you start head shoting and useing zerks people die in 2 burst.

There are at least 30 Chimera on the screen at a time...in addtion to your 8 player team in the campain mode. Add to this all the weapons fire and effects...and it is mind blowing! No other game is like this.

The textures are awesome too. The colors are killer. Orick California is suppose to be colorful it the woods people! All of america is colorful.

There is no lag in this game. There is 8 way online co-op and 60 player competition mode. The squads work...you just have to play and get use to it.

The R2 story is awesome.

R2 is gonna sell well over a million copies in its first week.

It is the best first person shooter out there now...until Killzone 2 comes out in feburay.

Resistance 3 was such a FREAKING good game. It was a shame that the market was flooded with quality stuff at that time, because I'm pretty sure it was overlooked by MANY (plus, I was in gaming retail at the time, so I KNOW it was overlooked by many).

I only played 1 and 2. I preferred 2. I thought the campaign was great, although it did have too much influence from COD. The online was a lot of fun, especially the 8-player coop campaign.

That series deserves a remaster collection, as does Warhawk.

Tough choice here. I only played the 3 main titles but I loved them all very much and for different reason. I definitely played 1 more than the other ones, but that was because early PS3 life cycle there wasn't much else I was interested in besides MotorStorm.

2 had the really interesting, ahead of its time co-op (if it had been on 360 it would be constantly talked about still, but games journalists really didn't acknowledge multiplayer games on PS3 and really only acknowledged single player games from Naughty Dog). But the campaign in 2 was just bad. It clearly suffered from trying to be more like the games coming out around it (mostly COD) rather than embracing the spirit of more classic FPS games like 1 and 3 did so well.

3. Resistance 2
4. Resistance: Burning Skies (good Vita shooter actually)

All good games but Resistance 3 has the best weapons, the most polish, 3D TV support, and a great ending to the series.

Fall of Man still holds a special place in my heart, but 2 and 3 were still very good. I miss those games.

Great trilogy. Loved the second game the most with its colorful graphics and the setting. Wish Insomniac would either make a trilogy remaster for PS5 or a new game in the series.

For me, 3, 1, 2. Never played the portable one, but I always used to hear about how good it was.

R:Fom, R2, then the its not even a sequel so I don't know why its called R3...

Are people saying R3 CoD fans? Cuz mp completely abandoned its roots, it was a terrible CoD wannabe.. Story was an abomination as well, stupid ending too....

R2 story was great, loved the live action stuff pre release. gameplay for it was a complete step back, the first one I felt like I was a part of the war, R2 you may as well have not had allies cuz every enemy was only focused on you. AMAZING ahead of its time Coop saved this game. MP was kinda meh, also a step backwards, gameplay changes for it were handled poorly.

R:FOM had some unpolished unfinished rough edges. You could definitely tell it was rushed. But story premise was freaking amazing, and playing with a buddy and stuff going on all over the place, I really felt a part of a war. Best MP in the series hands down, really inventive and different from everything else out there at that time and really to this day honestly.

I would love to have a new entry in this series!

I loved this game.

Resistance 2 was the best complete package for a shooter, along with Modern Warfare 2. Even though some people disliked the single player, as an action game I'd say it was better than any of the Call of Duty campaigns, which used to be pretty great.

Resistance: Fall of Man was one of my first online gaming experiences and one of my favourites, 40 players on the Manchester Cathedral map was so much fun. I would love this series to come back, even if it was a collection it deserves more than being stranded on PS3.

I loved the resistance games and it would probably be a factor in getting me to go search for a ps5 if they ever made a sequel

Resistance was the reason i bought a PS3. I wish they didn't end it early in 3. From what i understand they were supposed to keep it going and we would have gotten to see the chimera planet and the pure chimera but Insomniac said they got bored of making the same type of game so they gave it the ending in 3 so they could move on.

Remakes, Remasters, Reboot, sequels.....I’ll take anything, just anything they wanna throw at us fans of the series. Too good a franchise to lie dormant while the technical enhancements of the PS5 are ripe and ready to make our eyes bleed, with an in-house Insomniac pushing the boundaries.
