Another dev asking for crossplay from Sony...(or is it just another case of xbox fanboys asking for it) And they've been asking for it for while now it seems, from the very beginning even before Fortnite and Rocket League. I guess the que to get into the beta program is long from a lot of devs wanting and asking for this.

And another dev which has nothing back from Sony. neither a yes or no. He filed for cross play compliance testing, and that's where it's at. That's where it seems to be at for a lot of devs now. This dev isn't special. Sony is prolonging the beta for some reason. No one knows why, or is saying why, but this dev doesn't seem to be in the loop, so whatever he has to say doesn't mean much. There are probably a lot of devs waiting patiently for approval, and most of them aren't trying to promote themselves off the backs of Sony.

Ironically, War Thunder actually has a odd workaround to get cross play between consoles in one mode, and it hasn't been asked to turned off by either console maker. Guess that kind of thing doesn't make the news though, because no one actually cares. My guess, is that it went under their radars, because they don't really care enough about the game, and it doesn't get enough attention in the console market to make a difference.

I don't know what Sony's current requirements are for getting into the beta. The beta was supposed to be over by the last week of January, at which point, most assumed that that meant Sony would open it for all, because they are already accepting compliance applications with the API enabled.

Cross play will come. Sony isn't going to release an API, with compliance standards in place, and not enable it. That's a pretty big waste of their time.
