Publisher Dangen Entertainment announced that Devil Engine will be launching for the Switch and PC on the 21st of February and later for PS4.

The Osaka-based company finds itself under fire, accused of frequent mismanagement, poor communication, delayed royalty payments, and misuse of game assets. Meanwhile, its now-former CEO is accused of sexual misconduct, inappropriate behavior, and wantonly breaking NDAs. The accusations have now resulted in CEO Ben Judd exiting the company, and key member Ramachandran taking a reduced role.

Sometime in the future, mankind is nearly annihilated by an otherworldly force. In response, they developed an AI system known as the Devil Engine. With highly advanced weapons and faultless calculations, nothing in the entire universe can withstand its power. It was at this point that the humans realized they made a grave mistake. Not long after, the creation turned against its masters. All that remains now is Andraste, the sole ship that escaped the AI's clutches.

Frank at Hey Poor Player writes: "From its fantastic presentation to its lofty challenge, Devil Engine is a game that often humbled me but kept me coming back for more. Still, I have to say that those new to the shoot 'em up genre or averse to a hardcore challenge may want to get their bullet-dodging fix elsewhere."
Apparently logistic reasons. If this keeps on going for them, I can see future titles from devs not working with them
i hear first time this game and developer, maybe trying some dirty advertising tactics
Just watched a YouTube trailer of the game, surprised anyone is actually releasing it on there stores tbh, looks absolute shite and I enjoy the r-type style games too
Well to be fair he never says it's Sony's fault, he just says "logistics" which covers anything in the pipeline between his workstation and the Sony representatives screen. Not saying it isn't it could entirely just be some weak link employee somewhere, but it could just as likely be a tech error somewhere along the line. "logistics" is far too broad to come to any real conclusion on what exactly is going on, but most devs have stated having a pretty easy going streamlined experience working with them so this is at least out of character.
Interesting, but kinda sucks it's affecting the release of his game
Sony is acting very unfairly to all game developers,
