There’s some detective elements, but they’re not like not and day different from each other. In any case, I love both of these series, but Ichiban trumps all for me. That dude is one lovable f*ck up and it’s great!

The main stories in the Judgment games are way better imo. Bigger and less focused on, you know - just yakuza. I love yakuza storylines but they've all run together a bit in my head at this point. Judgment gave them an opportunity to do something a little new and the government embezzlement and serial killer storylines of the 1st and 2nd games were more interesting to me personally.

Combat is essentially the same as the older Yakuza games, pre-turn based. Never saw much of a difference in the combat compared to 5 or 6 in that regard.

Ichiban and Kiryu are better MCs than the Judgment guy though.

I stopped buying their games when they started porting them to Xbox.

Judgment was really good....Lost Judgment was a borefest and this is coming from someone who beat Yakuza Ishin in Japanese while syncing with a youtuber for translations,

Judgement has had two phenomenal main storylines but no. It had not surpassed Yakuza or Like A Dragon in most areas.

Judgment Series changed my mind/world on Yakuza... love it now.
